Is that the reason you wanted ALOT of money? No, the reason i wanted ALOT of money was because Metallica concert tickets are $300! If anybody needs their lawn mowed or their dog walked for a small fee, call me.

I saw them, The Axl Rose Show, Strapping Young Lad, Gojira, Soulfly, and about 30-40 other bands for the same price a couple of years ago. Oh yeah, and to rub it in, they did a straight run through Master Of Puppets...

It was at a festival for me so I just fought my way to the front.

Great...now my adamant decision to buy this is cast into doubt...if another song comes out, then I may have an accurate judge.
EDIT: I warmed up to Cyanide. So, that's one vote for yes, one vote for maybe (Day That Never Comes), and one vote for no (My Apocalypse).

Im gonna get the album, purely because its 'Tallica, and they're my band- the band that saved my life, really.
The Day That Never Comes is fantastic, although the video is pretty lame. Its well structured, builds up to a good, heavy ending, and its nice to see them letting Kirky do what he does best- solos!! Its about time, after what happened on the abomination that was St. Anger.
Cyanide is good too, but im still not thoroughly convinced by it. I heard it at Leeds festival a few weeks ago, and even live it seem to drag a little. And even though its longer, The Day That Never Comes seemed like the shorter song, it was THAT good live.
Its also nice to hear the production sounding spot on once more- not very suprising saying that Rick Rubin produced it.
At the end of the day, people are gonna compare this album to Master Of Puppets, just like they do with every other album since. Quite rightly so- Puppets was just Godly. But the people who do that will just be letting themselves down. Like it or not, Metallica have changed since 1986. That is fact. Whether or not thats a good thing depends on your point of view. But from the songs ive heard from Death Magnetic, this album will be just fine if people just take it as an individual album, and don't try to compare it to the old stuff.

I'll wait. I preordered it through Best Buy. I found a $20 gift card in the garage so I figured, "What the hell?"

Alternate cover: Just about to give it a listen, it sounds very average from what I've heard so far, I'll report back.

Tenacious D were the support act. Yes, it was better than any concert you've ever been to (unless, y'know, you were there).
