Actually he's quite known for his ring skills as he's a mat tactician. I'd wager you're only making this judgment from his days in WCW where they had him more as a cowardly wrestler who screamed and ran from people. He's wrestled in many organizations all over the world and has loads of experience, so I'd surmise that's why WWE chose him as a trainer.

However I'm never going to welcome him on my tv. Well when I turn the channel when he is on to something a lot better.

That's also fine, as that's your right as I do that also with several people in WWE that I'm not fond of. I was just explaining how the guy was not a bad technical wrestler as I think some who have seen him in WCW were not familiar with the guy and his travels.

Only if they bring him back as Screamin' Norman Smiley.
And to the poster(s) saying to bring Ralphus back, I believe he's dead.

Seriously? I remember hearing before that he died of a heart attack or something. Didn't Jericho mention it in his book?

remember Finlay started his wwe life as a trainer, before making his big return, so lets hope the master of the Big Wiggle does the same! DING DING DING DING! What's the possibility of him coming out to assist a superstar who was beaten up walk backstage?

Tell that to his face. He's an old-school British wrestler who could twist you like a pretzel. And I concur with the awesomeness of this.

This news pleases me. I do hope it leads to some Smiley matches and in turn, dancing.

So Smiley is going to be a trainer in developmental? I feel deeply sorry for the guys in FCW then, because God help them if he ever gets pissed and decides to show them how a hold works.

This news makes me happy. Even though he's a trainer, there's always hope for a Smiley return. Coincidentally, I was doing the Big Wiggle at work today.

He was one of the best things about WCW in 2000, the guy was mega over. Here's hoping we see him on our screens again soon.
