Hey... realised that I've never posted this as such, just referred to it a couple of times - in late March I was in NYC for holiday, and I was in touch with the lovely Agador Spartacus, of recently-returned-to-the-board fame.
We had a fantastic time on the couple of dates that we went on, which involved Russian bikini bar shenanigans, making out by the Hudson River, and even a little emetic action, not to mention a movie and some cuddling.
I returned to London, and we resolved that we would keep in touch, and would see each other as soon as possible - I asked Agador out via the medium of the photograph a few days later, and she booked tickets to come over in late May, earliest that she could make it.
Seemed like forever, but eventually we got around to that time, and Agador came over to visit again. We had an absolute blast, as I'd taken the time off work and we were able to be a non-internet couple for the first time - went into London for sightseeing and drinks, went for a couple of meals, but above all, were just together.
Knowing that we needed to see more of each other, and spend a lot more time together, to be sure that what was happening was totally right, we arranged that she would come over and live with me for two months, the length of her summer break, including missing a couple of her early Fall classes. I also booked a flight to go over to the US, and a room in a Howard Johnson's in Jersey (yes, I know, classy, but sometimes you have to sacrifice plushness for, well, actual ability to do something).
When July 9th finally came around we met up at JFK, and it was the happiest moment I'd ever had - she was just as beautiful as before, despite her protestations that I'd probably not think so, and I was more in love than ever before. We rode crosstown, and got to the hotel - maybe Howard Johnson isn't the most romantic location ever, but we turned it into one with champagne, candle and soft music.
We had a fantastic time there, and then we flew back over to London - suffice to say that by the end of those two months, we both knew that this was what we wanted forever, and in Piccadilly Circus on a Sunday night I asked if she'd marry me. Yes. Yes she would, and I was, am, and always will be the happiest man alive.
Juliana... I want you to know that you're the perfect girl, and I know that all of the hard times spent apart are going to be worth it - I can't wait for you to be here again, and to know that it's not long at all till we're together for good. Love you more than anything.
