The original X-Men episodes were great, but the final ones weren't as good. Plus, the animation changed and wasn't all that great.
Gambit's new voice also was annoying.

Didn't they make an Animated Series of Spiderman 2099? I kinda remember something like that

Don't get me wrong; I liked them at the time too, but oh man in comparison to the ones before and after, they might be more well-remembered, but quality-wise? Eh.

BTAS will age well just because the art is done well.
As for Spidey and X-men yeah over the years that will probably won't look so good. Although I have yet to see a better Mr. Sinister in cartoon form..

Aside from Ed Asner as Jameson, Mark Hamill as the Hobgoblin and Cal Dodd as Wolverine, I thought the voice acting in both shows was pretty mediocre. The plots were generally decent, but X-Men had one advantage in that it actually had references to death, whereas the Spider-Man show tended to work around it (using words like "destroyed" instead of "killed" for example). I don't think either was a particularly bad show, but they definitely both paled in comparison to Batman TAS.

I don't personally think any of the early 90s Marvel cartoons aged well. Hell, couple of them weren't that great to begin with. Not one of "our" better periods of animation, regardless of how popular X-Men and Spider-Man shows were at the time. oh, the iron man show is laughably bad but ever since iron man was a success at the box office toon disney has shown it like crazy. Yeah my brain still hurts at trying to fathom what the hell was going on in the Iron Man cartoon. On another note I thought Spiderman unlimited was a cool idea too and then they f***ed it up by not ending the series.

Not one of "our" better periods of animation, regardless of how popular X-Men and Spider-Man shows were at the time. Well put. Watching those "Iron Man" episodes now, I think back to when I was so excited to see them back in the day and overlooked flaws in animation, wrong sounding villains, and some really punny scripting. But then I still love the "Marvel Superheroes" cartoons from the 60's that they had on TV. Actual comic panels with a little animation for the cartoon? Those friggin' rock. The music, the hammy voice acting. Can still catch 'em on YouTube cause they're impossible to find on DVD.

Although I have yet to see a better Mr. Sinister in cartoon form. Has he already appeared in Wolverine and the X-Men in England? Those are the only two cartoons he's actually been a part of. Also, X-Men Legends 2 Sinister was my favorite non-comic version of the character. What a great voice.

Eh, I prefer 90s Marvel cartoons over 60s Marvel cartoons. The 60s ones are atrociously boring, I really can't get through them, while the 90s ones are at least atrociously hilarious at worst (though I generally liked the shows).
Though, I still wish that "Pryde of the X-Men" pilot had gotten picked up.

I actually can't watch any of the staple 90's Marvel Cartoons like Spider-Man and X-Men anymore, since the X-Men one was more often than not just bastardized versions of what was going on in the comics, only not as good (the source material's quality can also come into question). And the Spider-Man one had linebacker Parker and a Punisher that couldn't use real guns.
But the shows like Hulk and Iron Man and Fantastic Four, since they had no redeeming qualities at all to begin with, are still fine to me.
To me the pinnacle of animated marvel shows was the 60's Fantastic Four.

Well the reason being then Marvel was facing bankruptcy and had no money to continue producing the last season so Saban stepped in.

My first love will always be the early 80s Spider-Man and Hulk, followed by the 60s Spider-Man and Marvel Super Heroes (FF, Namor, Cap, etc.). I wish I was more familiar with the 70s FF and solo Thing shows than I am. The 90s (Spider-Man, Hulk, FF, Avengers, Iron Man, and....Silver Surfer?) I've already discussed. The recent FF show I didn't get into. The MTV Spider-Man had some good ideas but died before it could really get going. The current Spectacular Spider-Man I'm kinda digging. Feels very true to its roots.
What else was there, besides Spider-Man Unlimited? X-Men Evolution I didn't follow at all, was after my Saturday morning days.

X-Men Evolution was pretty sweet, I liked it. It was after my Saturday morning days as well, but it got some pretty decent evening play on CN for a few years, and I caught a good portion of the series there. It was pretty interesting.
