Nah Bob, its for two reasons: 1. The drivers who veer out of state (like NY. I almost saw a crash happen because of MA stupidness) 2. Red Sox "fans". I'm not talking about rooting for the home team, but you know what I mean when I say "fans", like Dale Earnhardt Jr "fans". Not really fans, but just the popular thing to root for. We refer to those type of fans as "pink hatters" I do not like them! Pink hatters.....love it! Although I'm a die hard Red Sox fan, I'm actually hoping they lose tomorrow night. I scored tickets for Monday's game and it won't take place if they sweep. Never been to a playoff game so I'm really hoping it happens.

Seriously, how dumb is this? It's our dear Bay State, so the answer is "extremely dumb." And really, if traffic is a concern for trick or treating then there should not be a Halloween anywhere in eastern Massachusetts on any day of any week whatsoever. MA drivers =

I went to college a town over from Oxford. Outside of the Mass Pike running through there its VERY rural. I cant see how its an issue in Oxford and not in tightly packed towns with streets that pre-date cars in Southie or Cambridge.

Why do I have a feeling no-one in the town is gonna give a f*** and will trick-or-treat on the 31st anyway? Because MA is a place where people who make rules go way overboard to enforce their rules. So handcuffing children for going out on the 31st seems totally plausible here... Massachusetts: THE CRADLE OF LIBERTY!!!!!!!!

With it being Massachusetts and all I'm surprised they dont force families to pay gift taxes on their Halloween candy

This reminds me of years ago when the city of Pittsburgh moved it's Fourth of July celebration to the 3rd. The reason for this was because then mayor Sophie Masloff was a real bitch and wanted to try and get out of paying the firemen, paramedics, and police overtime for working on the holiday.
