Tonight's show was horrid when building up to the SmackDown change. No Mercy by now everyone who planned on getting it was already sold (on the Ladder match), but the station switch was terribly overlooked. No one cares enough about ECW, but could at least tried a little harder with SmackDowns.
Regardless of that, fairly decent show tonight. Nothing will be remembered too much come next week (or maybe tomorrow), but nothing that screamed bad, either.

Would almost have been the perfect show, if Jibbles and Bo Toasty weren't in it

i only caught the end of the main event match (thank goodness for overuns). why in the hell the WWE decided to run with these weak DQs is beyond me. its almost as if they decided that the Dusty Finish isnt good enough anymore. so, whats youtube worthy of tonight's Raw? Watch the 8 man tag. One of those candidates for best Raw match this year. I'd also seek out Jericho and Cade's promo before the main event, just for the hilarious awkwardness of it all.

ACE I got a question for you. You ridicule the Orton kick of the death. It's well documented. It's also well documented you don't like Orton. You do however like DX. How do you feel about the complete absurdity of every time DX teams, the opponent takes Sweet Chin Music, *gets right up* then takes the Pedigree. This only happens in DX matches. In singles matches the opponent is down on his ass. How do you feel about this? The opponent does not fall down when he takes the SCM in that situation, instead he's spun around into the pedigree, which suggests a degree of control on HBK's part. After all he's used the move for over a decade (as opposed to Orton's what...one year?) However no matter what I say I know it will not be a sufficient answer. So I leave you with this number of "careers ended" by the SCM: 0 number of "careers ended" by the variable kick of death for no explainable variance: x too many. Also doesn't a side thrust kick to the face look a lot more devastating than "I'm going to slide across the mat like a doofus and graze you"? Actually in this match, Cade DID fall down from SCM. He fell down then got up about 2 seconds later to get the kick and pedigree. Normally they do just stumble into HHH's kick. This time, Cade actually fell down then stood back up. Looked kinda silly. =P

Maybe that can be Cade and/or Jericho's new gimmick where they beat up imaginary opponents as they describe what they are doing.

Damn it, I wish I was ordering No Mercy. I was thinking about it the second they mentioned the ladder match, but seeing the rest of the card play out I just don't think it's worth it. JBL/Batista? I can watch a 2005 DVD to see their horrid chemistry. Taker/Show? Wasn't great before, probably won't be now. I wanted to see Hardy/HHH, but after the airport incident I have to think any chance Jeff had of winning went out the window. Then Candice going for a belt ... bleh. Rey and Kane might be alright. Really all I'd be looking forward to is the ladder match, Henry/Hardy, and to see if Randy does anything. Yeah, the rest of the card is pretty weak, true. I've got a feeling that ladder match could be on an almost WM19 level though...although that's just a hunch I've been having. I'm starting to wonder if they gave Jericho the belt just to do this match, and if they did...good show. Oh well, I'm sure I'll eventually get to see it on Yout-uhh...on DVD.

Had they not done the Unsanctioned Match at Unforgiven I might have ended up ordering this for the Ladder match alone. It's practically why I got Unforgiven, though if I wasn't as intrigued by the Scrambles I don't know that I would have. It usually takes more than 1 match to get me to part with forty bucks. Even if it could be the best WWE match in ages....

Just read through the thread, yup, not wasting anymore time on RAW, except maybe to peep The Great Charli.

What were the crowd chanting during the Diva tag match last night? I couldn't make it out.

With all due respect, I don't think you can get a fair observation on the show from reading through a 70 page thread on the Internet (which, probably takes you longer than to actually watch the show, but that's another topic). It was a good show with a crappy ending imo.
