Do we REALLY need another Tim Burton remake based on someone else's writing where you know the entire plot is gonna be "watch Johnny Depp act silly/weird"? Really? That's the only thing that drove those Pirates movies, sans Tim Burton.

Source: my.spill.com/profiles/blogs/first-pic-of-johnny-depp-asAt first I didn't like it, but it's starting to grow on me. I know it looks really strange, but that's what the whole movie is about. I've never seen a Burton flick that I didn't like, except maybe Corpse Bride, but This looks hopeful in my opinion. Naturally, it makes you think about what Burton could've done with the other Mad Hatter ( Jervis Tetch) had he done more Batman films.

No, no we don't and this is coming from a uber Tim Burton fan. But, I will say this. I'm really excited to see that Crispin Glover will finally be in a Tim Burton movie. I just wish it would have been something more original on Burton's part. Oh, well.

Y'know, when you put it that way...I'm glad Burton left the franchise when he did. I'd rather have a million and nine ice puns over a Jervis Tetch that looks similar to this.

I don't really like the outfit, and I'd have preferred Tim Burton directing American's McGee's Alice.
Or... you know American McGee's Oz.

I had the same thought, thinking this was about Batman 3. Instead, I get Tranny Carrot Top. Nice. ;D ;D

He looks like a combination of Sweeney Todd, Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka. I don't think it's a coincedence either. It seems that photo is of Burton's laziness to make the character distinctive by just combining the looks from his other projects. I'll see the film anyway, but like some of the people here, I'm expecting the same typical fare.

...What is it with Johnny Depp and goofy hats? In every movie he's been in in the past umpteen years, at one point or another, he's worn a goofy hat. with the amount he's getting paid, i don't think he cares what kind of hat he's wearing

Ah, dammit, I was already primed to not see this movie, based on my pre-existing grudge against Depp and particularly Burton, but DAMMIT, now I know Crispin Glover's involved, I'll have to see it, because I love that creepy bastard.

I swear, someone needs to do an intervention on the Edward Scissorhands make-up kit... I wanted this to be good, but I'm just so f***ing TIRED of this crap. I don't mind Burton doing other people's writing, but I'm so very tired of it looking like this. Sweeney Todd gets a pass for awesome, but... UUUGH!

Alice in Wonderland?
That takes me back. I remember that one random Alice in Wonderland movie I had on tape.
Sammy Davis Jr. was the caterpillar. He was smoking.
