I just recently read through the "Emperor Joker" storyline again, and I remembered an old confusion, Ignition. What exactly was his full story, was it ever explained? I know that the Joker didn't just create him like he did most of his lackey's, but was it ever explained where he DID come from? Just curious.

As far as I know, they still haven't done a damned thing with him. There was that bit with Mxyzsptlk striking some kind of deal with him, and Mxy calling him "Clyde" but nothing has ever come of it. The last time I saw Ignition they had him working for Zod, but still no info on him whatsoever.

Oh, well, that sucks, he was a really cool character. And it kinda makes sense if he IS working for Zod, because he kinda had some very Zod-like dialogue with Supes durin EJ.

See, I thought it was all leading somewhere. Possibly something to do with Ignition being some cover-up name to keep Superman from discovering his origins. That may have been the original case, but so far it's gone nowhere. And now with all the Final Crisis hoopla and all the things that are getting changed around, it wouldn't shock me if they never touched on it again. Man, following comics is a headache.

Following DC especially seems to be confusing, what with all their Crises and whatnot.

I have one too.
Are there any prominent vampires in DC lore?

I have one too. Are there any prominent vampires in DC lore? Not really. Although currently, they're doing a "Superman & Batman vs. Werewolves & Vampires" miniseries. Yes, that is it's official name.

There is the Elseworld's Graphic Novel "Batman & Dracula: Red Rain" which was pretty good, and it spawned two sequels.
And I recall a one-off issue of Superman where he meets a Dracula-like figure who bites Supes, and consequently dies, as biting Supes, who stores the sun's energy within his body, is akin to biting the sun itself.
*shrug*

I have one too. Are there any prominent vampires in DC lore? The only one I can think of is I, Vampire, who was a House of Mystery character back in the day. Also, Looker - a her, formerly of Batman & the Outsiders - was turned into a vampire in the '90s. She still shows up now and then, and might still be one...
