Has anyone else noticed how all 3 shows this week dispensed with the proper intro video and all the masses of pyro that kicks things off? ECW just had a quick video for the Extreme Rules match and went straight to Dreamer getting the jobber entrance. And Smackdown went straight from the video pacakage showing Edge's win, to Vickie standing in the ring.
Sign of things to come?

I actually think it's good as it makes the PPV intros seem that much more spectacular.

I don't understand why it would cost more money to air a pre-made video package at the beginning of every show.

*waits for Batista's machine gun intro to turn into a .22 single shot intro" Well, if he would feud with Cena for the belt, he could probably "phase out" the pyro. Just have him say "I like doing what I do...but it's not working. I won the title...and lost it a week later. That shouldn't happen. I like doing what I do. I like coming out here and acting like I'm firing a machine gun. I like jumping up on the ropes and listening to all of you. I like being myself and acting a goof from time to time...but I need to get serious. I need to focus on what's mine. That title belt. So, there are going to be some changes. Some you'll like...some you won't. But it's what has to happen." Afraid he can't remember that? Have the promo backstage with some cue cards for reminders (I think they do that for some people). That said...did Edge return with his epic-big-unnecessary pyro-extravaganza? Cause...that's probably not needed either. There are a lot of ways for WWE to cut corners on the budget. I'm sure they'll find them. As for the show intros, they've done that before on ECW. If they want to open with a big match, they'll go straight to it. It gives the match a bigger feel of "Let's get straight to this, cause it's going to be great!" At least, in my eyes it does.

I don't know if it has anything to do with budget cuts, but I do know that in some arenas they don't do the opening pyro. I've been to 2 Monday Night Raw's (soon to be 3) in Sioux City, and both shows they did not do an opening pyro. Better yet, the first Raw they didn't do anyone's pyro.

Pretty soon, wrestlers will be coming out only to sparklers, black snakes and maybe on special occassions, the roman candle.

When I am there live, I prefer no opening pyro. It's too loud. I could also live without Kane's pyro as well. It gave me a heart attack once.
Actually, and this is an old story, they do not make enough money from the USA Network per episode to cover the taping of one show in HD. However they turn a profit due to ticket sales and overseas distribution.

You can't have Kane without the pyro. It's just....unamerican.

Perhaps they won't use that licensed music for the show intros anymore... Perhaps this'll mean they could get back to using production music, or just writing their own stuff... *waits for Batista's machine gun intro to turn into a .22 single shot intro" Or he just makes 2 short hand gestures and says *pew pew*
