I'm certainly glad that's how their match played out, especially since Jack Swagger decisively defeated Ricky Ortiz, clean as a whistle.
Jack Swagger's pretty cool and all, but the fact Ricky Ortiz was facing him made me that much happier. He's not TERRIBLE, but he's such a doof.
Plus, it was kind of funny to see Teddy be made to look like an idiot. He seems to think not even BEING in a match in a week or two is as impressive as winning a rather brutal hardcore affair, and thinks he'll shut up Swagger by rushing him into a match. Of course, Swagger is left the one smiling, with that grin full of massive teeth and all.
I have high hopes for Jack Swagger. I kind of think he could use new gear, though. His singlet makes him look a little smaller than he is. I won't say he's the next Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, or anything like that, but he's certainly one to be on the lookout for in the years to come, and the fact he's the one getting the rub at Ortiz's expense leads me to think WWE realizes Ortiz isn't the golden boy I think the believed him to be.
Any thoughts on this?

I can honestly say that watching ECW semiregularly, I have no idea who Ricky Ortiz is.

Ricky Ortiz, well... the less said the better.
And remember back when Teddy Long's GM character wasn't such a tool?
Me neither.

Yeah, I'm definitely a Swaggah man. Old Spice needs to hire him for commercials. Named Jack Swagger, big dude, and probably much cheaper than LL Cool J and the like. Would be a good cross promotion.

I think Swagger and Ortiz show the difference between FCW talent compared to proper Indy talent like Punk.
Maybe thats a stupid statement, I dont know....but Swagger and Ortiz are just aweful to me.

I used to hate Ricky Ortiz, until I watched Cha$e - and he was a hunter in the third episode, and it was possibly the most awesome thing EVAR.
In the ring though, Swaggah is better. Neither have good mic skills, though I think Ortiz is better on the mic with the little bit of experience they both have. I dunno, neither one seems like "main event" material to me, yet.

I like Ortiz in spite of his below average ring skills I like his loveable moron character wether it's intentional or not.

Ortiz is garbage. He jobbed to my man D'Lo in a dark match last week too so maybe WWE are realising he's ass after all.

Let me get this straight...you guys think Ortiz sucks because he's been jobbing? What's that say about MVP?
I've been a fan of Ortiz since he was Atlas DaBone in OVW. And yes, his moveset is really limited. But he connects with the crowd, and that's the important part of being in the WWE.

I can't stand Ricky Ortiz, probably my least favorite person in WWE, I actually prefer Khali and Snitsky.
Swagger is really good though.

I can't stand Ortiz in his current gimmick. He just seems like a person I could have created in like 5 minutes in No Mercy for the old Nintendo 64, music and all.
I love Swagger. His character is really being developed and the kid can go in the ring. Keep him in ECW for about the hext year, let him go over Hardy(cheating) and send Hardy back to Raw or Smackdown.

Jack Swagger is one of the few reasons I watch ECW, along with Mark Henry. He's got good skills, and I'm surprised they let him use any powerbomb variation as his finisher, considering the powerbomb is Batista's move.
