I think this match should be remembered. I mean, Trish and Lita both worked very well together and were able to carry the entire match. Was this the only time women ever main evented a show?

Lita main evented with Steph just before SummerSlam 2000. I still think Beth should headline a RAW, either with Melina or Mickie.

who would have thought that that would be the last time lita would ever get an ovation like that - 3 months later everything went downhill....

Lita's first title win against Stephanie McMahon in 2000 was a main event. But that had the top men involved (The Rock was the special guest referee, Triple H and Kurt Angle running interference and brawling with the Hardys) so it didn't have the kind of meaning the one I posted did. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Shm5kWEUbpo

The problem is that neither of them are anywhere near as over as Trish or Lita were.

Really entertaining match. Definiitely worthy of the main event. Hate that someone got really hurt in the match. This match and the Dark Angel stunt (which I believe happened before and Lita just returned from it when this match took place) pretty much stopped her from doing Litacanranas and she did the Litasault much less.

I wish their woman's division was still tstrong. During this time they would have given TNA's Knockout's a run for their money

By the time of this match Jazz, Gail Kim, Jaqueline and Nidia had already gone and Molly Holly and Ivory would also be gone shortly after. And in their place came 6 women from the Diva Search including, Candice, Maria and Michellecanhascheezburger.

It was a great Main Event and it felt fresh and different, plus it made the Women's title really matter.
Why WWE won't get behind their talented women now as opposed to the Bimbo parade is just beyond me.

I want to see Katie get a push, and her and Beth headline Raw in a ladder match (they've had a damn good one before). That would definitely get people's attention. But like has been said, the women on today's roster aren't as over as Lita and Trish were. Hell even Steph was more over when she main evented Raw.

IIRC, when the ratings came in for this show they found that a lot of people changed the channel during the last quarter hour. And this was when the feud was at its hottest.
It's not a coincidence that since that night there hasn't been a women's match that closed a show.
Shame too, since this was a great match and is probably my favourite of the Trish/Lita feud.

that spot with lita still makes me cringe. i thought for sure she broke her neck. again. Same here. After that I turned off RAW. I just couldn't finish it after that. I have seen it since then but, I was just in shock and fear. Why WWE won't get behind their talented women now as opposed to the Bimbo parade is just beyond me. Because sadly (or maybe not depending on your views) the "Bimbo parade" makes them more money and draws better ratings. Couple that with the "wonder" that was Trish and WWE knows that they can bring in any model and try and make them a wrestler and spend less doing that while making more money off of them.

Lita didn't get hurt in this match... amazingly it was a few weeks later at New Year's Revolution she did a lou thesz press off the apron and injured her knee...

Sort of depends on how you look at it. Pretty sure Triple H and Trish vs Rock and Lita was a main event, either on Raw or Smackdown.

Don't forget that Team Extreme vs The Power Trip and Steph main evented a Raw as well. That was the night that Trips and Austin destroyed Lita after the match.
