I guess me not watching Smack Down much in the past few months explains me not voting for Jeff Hardy/Triple H. I saw more of their feud from 2007 since it took place on Raw.

That just leaves two. I'll bring you the exact numbers tomorrow, but just to reiterate one more time, the absence of the runner up on 2 of the 50+ ballots cast gave victory to the eventual winner. That is the sole reason for the order of the Top 2. Not that there was ever any real doubt regarding what two feuds were going to end up on top of this list. WWE revolved around these four men and their pair of conflicts against one another. One one can win though, so coming in as the runner up as the second best feud of 2008 we have.... #2Total Points: 384Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels2003 saw these two men go one on one for the first time. It was an all time classic encounter at Wrestlemania 19. Their issues would persist through 2003, but after that the two never really crossed paths again. Then came 2008. The problems started out innocently enough. Chris Jericho trying to get to the bottom of why Shawn Michaels retired Ric Flair at Wrestlemania. The conflict between Shawn and Batista would eventually suck Jericho in, and he would find himself as the guest referee at Backlash. Shawn faked a knee injury that night to beat Batista, but it took weeks before Shawn would admit it. Until then, he had Jericho prodding him at every turn trying to get answers. Finally Shawn kicked Jericho in the face on Raw, admitting to what he had done. The two would have their match as scheduled previously, at WWE Judgment Day. The match was a great pure back and forth match, which saw the Intercontinental Champion targeting the leg of Michaels. Shawn was able to survive the Walls of Jericho, and roll through to catch Jericho in a flash pin. Shawn and Jericho shook hands, and the issue between the two appeared dead. At least, Chris would have you believe. The issue with Shawn ate Jericho alive inside. He couldn't understand how the fans could support someone like Shawn Michaels. Someone who would lie, cheat, and do whatever it took to get a win in the WWE ring. Jericho stood for honestly, and doing things the right way, yet he gets booed by the fans. Shawn Michaels was invited to Jericho's Highlight Reel in July to talk things over. It soon became clear why Shawn had been brought there that night. Jericho viciously assaulted Shawn, putting him face first through the Jeri-I-Tron making an example of Shawn. Jericho informed everyone that the worst was still yet to come, and then left Michaels a bloody heap. Shawn returned two weeks later, ready to get his revenge on Jericho. Shawn would get his chance at the Great American Bash. Unfortunately for Shawn, the crash through the Tron had injured his eye severely, and Jericho knew that. While even early on, it took one elbow to the eye from Jericho in the match to leave Michaels defenseless. Michaels bled from the eye, unable to fight back as Jericho assaulted Michaels with an aggression never seen from Jericho before. Jericho hooked Shawn's arm back and rained down right hands to the side of the face. The referee saw no other option but to stop the match. Jericho was the victor via stoppage, totally dominating the sure fire hall of famer and leaving him a bloody quivering mass in the middle of the ring. News came out soon after that Shawn Michaels had been consulting with his physician about his future in wrestling. Shawn we scheduled to make his return at Summerslam, and announce what direction his career would be going in next. Shawn did come to Summerslam, and his brought his lovely wife with him. Shawn announced that due to a multitude of injuries he would have to call it quits and hang up the boots. Fans cried, announcers sat at the table stunned .... then out came Jericho. What followed was inexcusable. Chris Jericho took a shot at Michael's eye yet again, but instead blasted HBK's wife right in the face. Jericho seemed surprised by his own actions, as he quickly left the ring and Shawn to tend to his wide. Though Jericho continuously denied his intent, it was far too late. Shawn was tired of hearing it, and challenged Jericho to one more match. One more match to settle the score. At Unforgiven, with no rules and no regulations. He wanted Chris in an Unsanctioned Match. Jericho accepted and the match was made. Jericho promised that he would end Shawn's career in that environment, once and for all. Michaels came in to Unforgiven with his mind set on one thing. Taking Jericho's career and ending it. For over 30 minutes these two men killed one another. Jericho's flunky Lance Cade tried to get involved, but he was a non-factor. Shawn trapped Jericho in the ring and took his belt off. With that Shawn took the sharp edge and drilled it over and over in to Jericho's face. He hooked Jericho's arm just as Jericho had done to him at the Bash, and wailed away. The referee had to stop the match yet again, this time with Shawn as the victor. Unforgiven did not end there for Jericho however, While Shawn got in his car and went to the airport, Jericho hung around. Jericho waited, and got his chance when Randy Orton took out CM Punk. Jericho entered the Championship Scramble and became World Champion. The next night on Raw, Mike Adamle was approached by someone with a match idea for No Mercy. A match for the World Heavyweight Championship. That man was Shawn Michaels, and that match was a Ladder Match. These two went out and waged war yet again. This time not over an eye or someone's family, this time for the richest prize on Raw. Shawn had the title won, but Lance Cade made his presence felt, this time pulling Shawn down and costing him the belt. Jericho and Shawn met on top of the ladder, each with an end of the belt in their hands, representing more than just the title. Jericho leaned in and headbutted Shawn in the bad eye. Shawn slipped and Jericho was able to retain his belt. Before each other them could move on, there was one more thing that had to be done. One more match, to FINALLY end the war and settle the score. In England they met one more time, in a Last Man Standing match, and once again they annihilated one another. JBL came from the back and took out Michaels, allowing Jericho once more to get the upperhand and defeat his most persona of rivals. The feud, the war, the title, all goes to the winner. That man was Chris Jericho.

I was hoping Jericho/Michaels would win (it was my number one). I thought the storyline and the matches were good. The eventual number one had some great, memorable matches, but I didn't dig the actual feud though. I voted it #2 due to the match quality.

HBK vs Jericho should have one. Both Match quality and AMAZING promo's from both men, easily would beat the winner here in my books. Lack of Taker at times hurt my #2 and your #1.

#1Total Points: 388Edge vs. The UndertakerOne could say this feud dates all the way back to May of 2007 when Edge first appeared on Smackdown cashing in his newly won Money in the Bank briefcase to basically steal Undertaker's World Heavyweight Championship. Edge's return at Survivor Series 2007 saw him costing Undertaker the World Title. Then again at Armageddon with Edge using Hawkins and Ryder as decoys to steal the World Title yet again. This issue really got heated up after No Way Out. Once Undertaker won the Elimination Chamber, his ticket to Mania was stamped. He would go on to face Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. A match that scared the hell out of the Champion and his wife, and rightfully so. Taker with his undefeated record, looking for the title that was stolen from him. Edge tried everything he could to gain the upper hand in the feud, finally doing so on an episode of Smackdown 2 weeks before Mania. Edge got Taker down, and screamed "SIXTEEN AND ONE, DEADMAN" before hammering Taker's head with a chair. The next week on Smackdown Edge and his Familia gave a proper goodbye to the Undertaker and his winning streak, as Edge would be burying it one final time at Wrestlemania. Undertaker would not be swayed by such mind games, and rose from the casket to unleash hell on Edge's Familia. Edge escaped, but saw what was waiting for him at Wrestlemania. Edge fought the match of his life, and threw everything he had inside of him at Undertaker. La Familia attempted to get involved, Edge tried every underhanded trick in the book, but it wasn't going to be enough. Taker hit a Tombstone, but no referee was there to make the count. Edge had received a break, maybe enough of one to find a way to escape as Champion. Edge hit his spear, but Taker locked Edge in Hell's Gate and the Rated R Superstar had no where to go but down. Edge dropped the match, and the title. An immediate rematch was announced the following Friday on Smackdown, as Vickie Guerrero intended to make sure her man would be Champion again. 3 weeks of back and forth between La Familia and Taker brough us to Backlash. Edge brought a solid gameplan against Undertaker just like he had at Mania, but again he was fighting a losing battle. Hawkins and Ryder weren't enough to overcome the Undertaker. Undertaker trapped Edge in Hell's Gate and retained the belt via submission. Taker refused to relinquish the hold however. Prior to the match Taker had told Edge that he was going to hurt him badly, and this was him making good on that proclamation. After well over 3 minutes in the hold, Edge was released and bleeding internally. He was wheeled off on a stretcher, and taken to a hospital. While Taker had done everything by the rules in retaining his Championship, Vickie Guerrero was out to punish Taker for his actions against Edge. Before a scheduled title defense against the Great Khali could happen, Vickie rolled out on stage and announced she was stripping Undertaker of the belt for an illegal choke maneuver he'd been using. The belt would be held up until Judgment Day. A #1 contender battle royal was held the next week to determine Undertaker's opponent for the match. Batista won, only to be ambushed by the returning Edge who was declared the winner by Vickie and the second half of the World Title match. After months of attacks and harsh words, the hostility between these two could not be contained to the ring. They fought out in to the crowd and back in to the ring side area, looking to end one another. Unfortunately they let their tempers get the better of them, as they neglected the referee's count. Taker caught it, and got back in the ring at 9 while Edge lay prone on the floor at 10. It appeared Taker had FINALLY gotten his belt back, but alas it was not to be. Vickie appeared and again stripped Undertaker, saying the belt could not change hands a DQ or Countout. By this point it was clear something had to be done to end this. Vickie and Edge then hatched their master plan. One more match between the two for the World Title. This time, if Undertaker won he was Champion no matter what. But if Edge won, Taker would be banished from the WWE for life. That match, was Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. Undertaker appeared to have the match well in hand, but Edge's Familia once again made their presence felt. While Taker was able to dispose of them and get back up to retrieve the belt, Edge was able to compose himself and send Taker falling to the drop of his career. Through 4 tables plunged Undertaker, and all that was left was for Edge to climb the ladder and get his title back. Edge had finally vanquished the Undertaker, and won back the World Heavyweight Championship. It would be a short lived run of happiness however. Soon after Edge's world would come crashing down. He would lose the belt in surprising fashion to CM Punk. He would get caught cheating on Vickie with another woman, then to top it all off would lose in a WWE Championship match to Triple H at the Bash. Finally, Vickie put the proverbial nail in Edge's coffin. She announced the reinstatement of the Undertaker, and a Hell in a Cell match for Summerslam. That was it. Edge had lost it. Over the next three weeks Edge became a psychotic maniac. Around every turn Edge was wrecking havoc on Vickie Guerrero and La Familia. Mick Foley's advice had awoken a beast inside Edge that hadn't been seen in years. Edge was finally ready. He was ready to enter Hell in a Cell against The Undertaker. Thirty five minutes of hell were unleashed in Indianapolis that night, as Edge and The Undertaker let out over a year's worth of aggression and hatred on one another. Edge speared Undertaker through the cage, Taker chokeslammed Edge through a pair of tables. Undertaker was finally able to hit Edge with a spear, a camera as payback for Survivor Series, and a Tombstone to end the feud against his long time rival. Edge was then chokeslammed off a ladder, and sent to hell once and for ... three months.
