in one image: Thor, god of thunder, one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe and indeed all of comicdom... with a gun. Because? What other quintessential nineties comics cliche images can you guys throw in here?

The image isn't showing. But Thor with a gun does sound...very 90's.

Superman with long hair. Everybody was reimagined to be gritty for the 90s.

It wasn't even long hair. I wouldn't have minded that.
It was a damn mullet.
No. Just...no.

To be fair, dude had been dead for several months at that point, and then hung out in the Fortress of Solitude watching the pretend Supermen for a couple more months, so his not going to the barber can be excused for a bit. Granted not for as long as he kept the Mullet of Steel.

I own the supergirl comic too. Not a bad lil miniseries actually. And in all honesty, she only adopts that look for half that issue, to show her 'anger' at Lex for manipulating her. So it's not quite as bad as it seems. It's not as if that was supposed to be her new costume or anything.

That one kryptonian robot in the fortress touched up his do periodically. It tried to convince him to frost the front, but he wisely decided against it.

And where's the backwards cap? I THOUGHT SUPERMAN WAS GONNA BE HIP. Also, Frank, I f***ing LOVE McFarlane Spidey. It's easily my favourite design of any of them.

The only thing I didn't like about Mcfarlane Spidey. The giant freakin eyes. Everything else was updated Ditko and therefore good, but those huge eyes have always bugged me.

I love the design, as a child of the 90's that WAS my Spider-Man.

The huge eyes are a big part of what makes me love McFarlane Spidey. They just always looked so damn awesome to me.
I realize they wouldn't really work in like, a real life setting...but they look f***ing sweet in the comics.

Just too bad McFarlane was a bad writer.
