Yea, or nay?
I say yea, because I honestly can't see him ever returning to Y2J again, and if he does, the markier crowds will shit all over it, forcing him to turn SERIOUS again.

If this is him for the rest of his career, I say good. I know a few here and there on this board aren't fans of the gimmick, but it couldn't be more obvious that this role fits him like a glove. Again, never looked like more of a true main eventer than he did a couple of months ago. This is his perfect role and it's given him his greatest successes. He doesn't get cheers like Orton (short of Canada), he doesn't get "WHAT?!" like JBL some weeks, he is right on the level of Edge. People care what he has to say, and want to boo the hell out of it.

I'd say it's good for him, I know a lot of people here may not like it because he's not acting goofy or sarcastic, but the heel turn and him being more serious gets him more heat.

It's put him at the height of his career, success wise, so I'm all for it.

I think the character we all love from WCW and WWF's Attitude Era is something that works really well when you are a relatively young wrestler. I think Jericho's current character works better for his age and experience. I was thinking something similar today when a poster asked what kind of things Pillman would be doing today.

You mean I have to hear "Blah blah blah 'Your saviour', blah blah blah 'Hypocrites', blah blah blah 'You people aren't worthy.....'" until he retires? No thanks!

I'd say so. He's easily the most credible, and there wont be a need for him to turn anytime soon. Not to mention, I don't think there is any possible way that he could be turned face.
Unless he wrestles in the suit.

The only problem with this gimmick is that he's always gonna need somebody to play off of. Other than that, this gimmick is so over that Y2J or even just sarcastic heel Jericho is dead and buried. However, I'm looking forward to the 3 disc DVD entailing Jericho's career that HAS to happen.

The nice thing about this character is that it would equally well as a face.

He can't start pandering to fans again as that would make him a hypocrite and he HATES hypocrites!!!! It's his #1 pet peeve.

what is his actual gimic? i mean how is this version of him as a heel different then his other stints as a heel Have you seen him in WCW when he was highly arrogant and made fun of his opponents? He was often outlandish. He was similar in WWE. His tone was light and comedic. He used to complain about a conspiracy against him and went to the Library of Congress once to try to plead his case to James J. Dillon. He would get people's names wrong. Also, think back to when he was going to be fired by Bischoff. He begged and pleaded to Bischoff. Most of this heel work was comedic. Now he plays a serious heel who wouldn't do the things the younger Jericho did.

One day he'll go back to being Y2J. But I think that will be close to or on his final run.
