DX06 had their moments. (see: DX making fun of the McMahons) I certainly enjoyed it more than Serious Heel DX 2000, that's for sure.

I loved it, but mostly because I was only 9 when DX first came out in 97, so I couldn't really appreciate them the way I can now.

I love DX. Even the new stuff they do.

They were terrible and unfunny. The original DX was raw and edgy, the new DX was like something from a Nickelodeon show for teenagers. Way too scripted and way too corny.

I was 22 and had long outgrown the DX antics. I couldn't stand it. The first half of 2006 had been such a fantastically booked year for Triple H, and to have the second half be him running around making wiener jokes was just cringe-worthy. Also, the exact same can be said for Michaels but replace wiener jokes with being a complete dork.

i thought it sucked and was a waste of time. I think that quote should have been a sticker on the front of the "New and Improved DX" DVD that came out a couple years ago.

I thought their impression of the McMahons summed it up. It was hilarious until the real Vince and Shane came out with the Sprit Squad, then that bit with the dung being dumped on them was juvenile.

i was basically a mark back then (as in i didn't look anything up on the internet) and i absolutely loved it... they were so freaking funny... the stuff with the bounty i found hilarious... along with HBK speaking Jive, kicking stan, and just all the wackiness was awesome.
sometimes it got overdone like the cock jokes... but i loved when they made Mcmahon's voice all high-pitched... man how the hell was he able to do that with a straight face?

Meh. It had it's moments, and the moments were a little too few and far between for me.
I thought the part where Triple H and Shawn imitated the McMahons was terribly unfunny, and seemingly dragged on forever.
The part that irritated me the most at the time was DX getting top billing over the relaunch of ECW. It's like, you're starting a 3rd show, shouldn't THAT be the focus for just a month or so, then you can go on to making all the wiener jokes you want. But there was virtually no focus whatsoever, and the Cena - RVD match took a huge backseat to DX, and the One Night Stand ppv in general was criminally underpromoted, to the point that they needed a special show just to hype the ppv.

I loved the over the top cheesiness of it all, especially goofy Shawn. It's not '97 anymore they had to move on, I think they did it well.
I did have a slight problem with the obsession with man buttocks at the time though.

I flatout hated the New DX. It started out ok, but went on WAY WAY WAY to long, and got very old VERY fast. The stuff i did like, HBK talking Jive, the McMahon impressions were GOLD, lowering Vince's voice, and the ep were everyone was trying to take out DX and Masters was in the bathroom stall. But i thought it was both Triple H and HBK's worst in ring years ever, like as hard as they tried they couldn't get classica matches out of anyone. However there were a few above average matches, i remeber a great little match with HBK vs Umaga on Raw, and the match vs Rated RKO at New Years Res. 07 was EXCELLENT and VERY VERY underratted.

This is not meant to be a knock on anyone at all. So please don't take this the wrong way.
But I think its very easy to separate the people who take wrestling too seriously from the people who just watch for the fun of it simply by asking their opinion of the 2006 version of DX.

It had its moments, but overall it was pretty damned abysmal. Well, unless they thought Rosey/Trump was awesome, want to smurf Nicole Bass, or are a huge Muffy fan. Rosey/Trump WAS awesome.

Not really if you didn't find any of what they did too funny and entertaining. Even comedy shows have moments that fans didn't like. It's preference and nothing more.

I disagree there, I love crazy and dumb segments as much as the next person, it's just that as I wasn't a big fan of the original DX with HBK/HHH and so I wasn't going to be entertained by the 2006 version. To each his own.

DX in 2006 had way too many scenes involving men's bare asses to be enjoyable.

I guess I didn't mean that the opinion being "I liked it" or "I didn't like it" being the tell, but rather the people who were all high and mighty saying that it had no place in wrestling or tried to find logic gaps in it. I can live with people not finding it funny. Its the "the owners son in law and a born again christian trying to be edgy...puhleeze" people that annoy me.

There were some very funny moments but at times it seemed forced - various "cock" jokes and such, plus beating the Spirit Squad up every week became boring.
Still, some great segments though, especially when they bought tickets from Cryme Tyme on the streets of Manchester.
