I was thinking about this the other day and WWE do have tendancy do to this gimmick every other year in order to push someone. Sure it's a cheap and easy way to get the wrestler over but i seems to occur all too much. For instance Kozlov's streak is still intact but before that you had Umaga, Lesnar, Kurt Angle. Even Edge had a brief one around the time of his debut. If we go even further back you had the likes of Yokozuna, Tantanka and Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak. Hell you could even say that MVP is on one at the mo but in reverse!
The only instance where i think it really worked was Goldbergs WCW streak which is similar to the way Lesnar was bulit upbut i preferred Goldbergs because he was face to begin with and wasnt worked into the face role like Lesnar was.
I just wished they'd use them sparingly rather than throw them at anyone and then making the fans wait until 'The Champ' or lex Luger defeats him!

Cena had to throw everything he had and then some to keep him down... his normal moves weren't enough he had to add in a weapon with them. great storytelling in that match

The Miz in 2006 was a bit ridiculous. Then he lost his streak to the Boogeyman of all people.

Yeah, however it's mainly that they do too many "Undefeated" where they've lost by DQ or countout though.

I think it helps the wrestler and gives them a chance to get over.
