For years he just acted as an announcer. I didn't know he was the owner until about 1995 or 1996.
When did they say for the first time on TV that he was the owner?

I had a sports fact a day calendar in 1991 (when I was 9). I'll never forget the day. August 21. The fact was Vince McMahon admitting that wrestling matches were predetermined in order to avoid being subject to the state athletic commissions.
The damn thing might as well have told me there was no Santa Claus.

92-93-ish. Back when he was commentating, my Aunt told me that he was the owner and I was shocked.

I started watching after KOTR '98 so it's always been common knowledge to me.

I live in Stamford, CT so the trial got 1st page on multiple days. That's when I found out. I was 8 or 9 at the time.

Ive been waiting for a return to the face Vince announcer for like forever now. Ive sadly given up hope now. I think the only way to do this is a senile dementia gimmick, you know it'd work.

I saw an interview with Vince on ESPN in 1990 or 1991. He was introduced as the WWF owner right from the start of said interview.

Not until the Attitude era.
I was wondering at the time (before the era) why Shawn was begging (on his knees) Vince to be at Wrestlemania.

I'd been watching since the late 1980's, but I didn't put it together until the early days of Nitro. I mean, why would Bischoff just attack the hell out of a WWF announcer?
