Miz isn't over, so much as he's mastered getting cheap heat.
Think about it...every time John Morrison's in the ring working the faces over, Miz is on the apron doing retarded isht. I saw him doing jumping jacks while yelling "OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH" one time.
And yet, every time, the crowd takes offense to this and starts booing.

I knew he would get over.
Over to a Matt Striker/Simon Dean level (ie get the reactions, without the plaudits), but over nonetheless.
The E always wanted someone from Tough Enough to to get over, and with only him and Johnny Nitro left, I figured they'd ram him down our throats, (and I think they tried to initially, but he screwed up too much on the mic when he was Diva Search host) instead they did something very, very different. He talked like a face, acted like a face, got a catchphrase over with a small number of fans ("Hoo-rah!"), but only wrestled faces. Why would they do that?
He's got over a lot more that I thought, and it was really smart booking. Miz had become a great talker who needed to improve in the ring, and Morrison was a great worker who needed a talker. And in the last year or so, they've helped each other. Morrison is a much more entertaining talker, and the Miz has improved in the ring more in the last year, than I've ever seen anyone improve. Now that, I never, ever expected.

Yes as he seemed charismatic the first time I saw him, however I missed his early work and didn't know about his reality TV past.
I wonder if JBL bashing him on commentary helped to get him over?

NO!! there would b a huge backlash against him because he's an ex-reality TV star. Who was also on a Borat sketch!
