Talking about football is usually fine until some gobby glory hunter who's never been to a game in their life doesn't grasp the finer points of banter and crosses the line into just being a dick.
Also discussing the relative merits of pub sports, celebrities and reality TV can lead to trouble.

Things always seem to turn ugly between glazed donut lovers verses jelly donut lovers.

Glazed, although the Wal-Mart cake donuts with the icing aren't far behind.

Hip-hop.
For all intents and purposes, that should be a much lighter topic than it actually is.

I'll agree with the breakup thing. I'm recently divorced and my friends are kind of touchy around the subject, but if they do ask I try to be as diplomatic as possible. I don't go into detail but I do give my side of it and keep my cool. But yeah, there is definitely a line in the sand there that once crossed will cause all sorts of drama that I could really do without.

There is a reason why they say to never talk about religion or politics at the dinner table. Or at this board, remember. Leave it out of this thread. Leave what out of the thread? Saying the word politics and talking about politics are two different things. You asked a question and I gave you the two most obvious answers. As far as I know there is nothing in the rules that say you can't type the words religion, and politics. Lighten up Francis. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to ruin your thread by talking about politics and religion. Don't you guys hate politics, up until a few years ago I would always misspell politics. I always wrote polotics for some reason that I can't explain. I guess that putting two i's so close together looked very strange to me. For some reason though I have never had trouble spelling religion which for all intents and purposes looks like it should be much harder to spell then politics. I guess that when it came right down to it I had religion around me more then politics as a child, so I guess that could explain why I never had trouble when it comes to religion.

POLITICS. ... RELIGION ... hey, what do you know? I didn't burst into flames. ;D This is fun, POLI *The Sam bursts into flames* Madison^ - Let that be a lesson to the rest of you. ^ = May or may not be the actual Madison Carter...ok it's not.

Well, it might go better for you if you didn't call them ugly.

Miley Cyrus. I have started 3 different threads about her and they all were locked fairly quickly because it turned into an argument over underage sex.

Criticizing women.
Be prepared to be immediately labeled a misogynist, dateless loser, gay, or whatever shame tactic they will throw at you.
