They meant the men's tag belts going to women. Wouldn't mind Mickie and Melina versus the In Crowd myself. Miz and Morrison would retain, but it would be a fun little feud. Last time they had a match like that, it didn't work so well.

So sad to see that the longest tenured Divas now are all Diva Search rejects. Thank god for Melina and Mickie.

It is somewhat sad. The time when Women's Wrestling was really picking up in WWE died when Victoria retired. It's like when Val Venis got released. It truely marked the end of the attitude era, where as others like Triple H have changed, and Goldust was in and out, Val Venis was developed during that hot period and represented a time of prosperity. It's like when D'lo Brown came back. He got a huge reaction. Why? Because they remember him from the attitude era. Sure, he had a brief run on Raw, but they mostly remember the good times. Same with Steve Blackman. They remembered him as the Chuck Norris-esque bad ass of the attitude era. Whether he was put in funny situations or not, they loved him being the straight man, and they loved to see him kick ass and take names in hardcore matches.
It's kinda the same now with the women. Molly Holly, Ivory, Victoria, Lita, Trish Stratus, Jazz, Jacqueline, and to a lesser extent, Gail Kim, really made the Women's division something to look at and take seriously. Personally, I feel that particular era died after Lita and Trish's main event match on Raw, because that's when the other divas starting being phased out for the hot chicks.
On the roster currently, less then half were wrestlers originally. That means, they got into wrestling before WWE, and got into WWE to be wrestlers. Now, it can be disputed that some chicks got in the diva search as a quick way to get to one's dream job. Michelle McCool maybe one of those people, I remember she won me over by talking about how she used to be a huge fan when she was younger, and that's something that can be related to, if you get me. It helps me to understand why she would get into the contest to get in WWE, because if I had that opportunity, I would jump at it. The paying your dues stuff is bullshit, because everybody will pay their dues somehow, no matter what. The wrestlers will make sure of it, and rightfully so.
It's really bad I feel, because it goes back to the indies. Who are the veterans there? Sometimes, it's guys with lots of experience working different places. Sadly, most of the time it's people who are not that good, and haven't reached that level of being good enough to bestow knowledge. And I think it's ok, because Mickie's been wrestling for almost 10 years now, and has been in lots of different places on lots of different levels. Plus, Finlay usually helps them out, but he can't relate to them as a female, and give advice from a female's perspective. So, like, with Victoria retiring, it is kinda sad that the veteran chick now is gone.

And then prompted to give the women's division new-found respect after flashing her cans as soon as she won the title. You say that like you're complaining about it....

I didn't say it was a bad thing, did I? But the division at the time wasn't that great. Wasn't Stephanie McMahon champion at one point?

And didn't King get mad at some sexually suggestive pics she posted on the net? Or did he post the majority himself? Anyway... Pretty sure he posted them, as they WERE on his website. I know, since I was a Kat mark, back in the day, even though I now know she blew.

I'll disagree here. Even though they were average workers at best, back in the Attitude Era, Sable and Chyna brought legit star power to women's wrestling, and they had MUCH better people to work off and make them look good in women like Ivory, Jacqueline, and Luna Vachon, which dragged the prestige of the division up. Admittedly, for every Ivory, you probably had ten Debras, who never really intended to step foot in the ring and sucked as a result, but still... this dont forget to add miss kitty-who only got the belt because she was married to lawler and wasnt he doing the booking at the time? Not in WWE he wasn't. It was all Russo at that time.

The way that they're booked, they don't seem as relevant as they did nearly ten years ago. But to be honest, almost everything in WWE isn't nearly as relevant as it was back then. But the women's roster has some extremely talented wrestlers with years of experience. Mickie, Melina and Jillian have each been in the business for at least seven years, are all very talented ring workers and are also very over performers. Others such as Katie Lea, Beth and Natalya, while not around as long as the first three, are also extremely talented women.
Yet others such as Maria, Candice and Michelle McCool are not as talented as the first six mentioned, and have all been around for a significant period of time. I hope that they don't get the spotlight on them too much, but as it's looking right now (Either Melina or Beth will be the women's champion in less than a week, and Maryse won the diva belt from McCool), it doesn't look like that will be the case in the near future.
