If Spears was thought as too skinny, why didn't they just use him in a role where he could win matches by being really sneaky over the bigger guys. Have him be that weasley heel that he was in OVW. It would have worked.
I guess I believe that part, mostly because Shawn Spears is extremely talented, and why else would they dump a guy like him?

So the WWE doesnt sign and push wrestlers solely based on charisma and connection with the crowd? I am stunned.

I will PARTY if Goldman is released. I will too, because then maybe he can work somewhere that will actually use his talent and charisma.

Smarkbait at its finest... Not only they put Braddock into the "small guys" lot, while he isn't... (or maybe they don't want people in horrible shape either?) but it's just going against any reasonable analysis of WWE roster! Ohh, I'm sorry. The category was "People the WWE had no real plans for from the start". Well thanks for playing and we have some lovely parting gifts for you.

Maybe I'm missing something, but if officials never had any plans for these guys, then why are they still around?

It's as if they've forgotten that many of their biggest stars of all time were under 6'2.
- Roddy Piper - Randy Savage - Bret Hart - Shawn Michaels - Eddie Guerrero - Chris Benoit - Chris Jericho - Kurt Angle - Rey Mysterio - Ric Flair - Rob Van Dam - CM Punk
And on and on.

I find this funny... Keirn basically said WWE doesn't want any small wrestlers by saying "they don't want anyone who is 5-foot-1."I like the way they put words in his mouth there. Does ANY promotion want a guy that is 5'1? Like, seriously? I'm 5'1, i've been training 7 months and am gonna work my first show in 2 weeks. Should my trainer not give me that opportunity then?

Eh, not really. I've been pretty much expecting Colt (I've stopped calling him Scotty) to be released about 3 weeks after his signing. He almost seems like an afterthought there now. I'm just counting the days until he goes back to ROH, sad as that is.

Seriously you are 5'1? Well good luck. I'm going to be honest. I don't think WWE will take a second look at you even if you bulked up to be really really big. No disrespect to you or anything. I hope you do good in the indys and perhaps make it to TNA if you are good enough and work real hard. To be honest though. Mexico or Japan are probably your best shots.

Why would they sign these guys if they obviously have no plans for them?

I'm realistic in the sense that i'll never make it to the WWE (although Rey Mysterio shows it is possible, and he's my hero), but I would love the chance to pick the brains of guys like HBK, HHH, Taker, even Rey himself. I do get the "stop beating that little guy up" babyface sympathy in my training matches. Guess i'll have to see how a real crowd reacts to me in 2 weeks.

No way it could be true. The evidence points to the opposite.

Why would they sign these guys if they obviously have no plans for them? I guess because they actually thought those guys could work well in and for WWE. Then obviously something has gone wrong, and the guys didn't express the potential WWE had seen in them. I really don't get all the scandal in that. There are many examples in many legit sports (and in entertainment) of hot prospects who didn't turn out as great as they were expected to. But when it happens in WWE with some Indy God, then it MUST be because WWE just push 6"6 280lbs roided-up bodybuilders. God forbid the Indy God may have not been all that great, or not fitting WWE's style.
