Golden Eyes on MGM's Detroit Billboard Cause Stir Sunday , March 01, 2009 A teaser for an MGM Grand Detroit casino ad campaign that features a pair of golden eyes peering at motorists from a billboard is causing a stir among some who see the image as sinister. The Detroit billboard depicts the eyes on a black background, accompanied by a golden silhouette of MGM's signature lion. City Councilwoman Alberta Tinsley-Talabi tells The Detroit News for a Saturday story she wants it taken down. The Rev. James A. Smith, pastor of Maranatha Gospel Church in the Detroit suburb of Romulus, says it "looks like a demon glaring at you." Yvette Monet, a spokeswoman for casino parent MGM Mirage Inc., said the company wasn't aware of protests. She says Las Vegas-based MGM is excited it's generating buzz, since that's the intended effect.

I remember a billboard that just simply read 'What up?'. I don't think it was for a product.

People really reaching for things to get angry about...or perhaps reaching for publicity.
Besides, that's only one of many demons in Detroit. They're everywhere! ;D

If you didn't know what the ad was about, you'd look at the Lion on the corner and think the Lions were turning heel.

If you didn't know what the ad was about, you'd look at the Lion on the corner and think the Lions were turning heel. They've got plenty of X-Pac Heat for that to happen.

If that's the creepiest thing in Detroit, then the city's doing far better than I last heard.

I think it looks really cool. I'd like to have a photo/painting of that to hang on my wall.

I remember a billboard that just simply read 'What up?'. I don't think it was for a product. It was to advertise R-Truth's debut on Smackdown!
