Sorry, I know I've asked this before but I can't for the life of me find the answer. How do I block a user so I can't see their posts? (I'll save the answer this time). Click on the little gear icon near the name and you’ll see “Block User.” Click on that to block them. You're a gem, thanks.

Anyone else getting the "Microsoft Tech Support" scam ads from this forum? (I have a habit of left-clicking as a finger massage, so I often click in several neutral areas on the forum pages)
It's not sigs as I have sigs turned off (so I can read a thread faster).

Can we get the old tagged "MLB" thread replaced by the new one on the sports board? People seem to be responding to both.

Can we have less stickies overall? It just seems so unnecessary to leave up the same topics, some of which are locked, for months on end. Half the time it is to address rule breakers or changes that were targeted towards or brought on by a select few.

Have the Photobucket "give us money or you can't see your pic" pics that are still in some sigs increased in size to annoying levels or is it something that I changed while I was messing about with Chrome extensions?

The stickied/pinned threads are mostly very active, the two in this forum for example are both regularly posted in (including this thread I’m posting in right now). If you mean the announcements then I see only one that is addressing rule breakers? Whilst it hasn’t been posted in for some time now, the issue hasn’t been as bad in recent times (and normally Wrestlemania season is one of the worst periods for flaming) so I could say the announced thread is doing its job. We are aware of the need to keep announcements down to avoid cluttering up the forums but sometimes it’s necessary to have a few of them up at any one time.

I don’t know. I’m seeing some of them are now upside-down too. I would go to my old account and see if there’s anything on that’s end but last time I went to Photobucket I was besieged by “congratulations! You have won a .............” dialogue boxes that you can’t f***ing close.

They showed up sometime this week and it's a new version of the "upgrade to enable 3rd party hosting" picture. I checked Chrome, IE and Firefox and the picture is the same size (845 x 839) in all 3 browsers.

Yeah, that's just someone taking the piss out of Photobucket's restrictions. The actual images do seem to be stretching beyond the limit for sigs, though.

Yes I did mean both pinned and stickied threads. I mean the first ones up there don't really need to be up there or can be removed sooner, No? With all due respect, someone having someone important to them pass away (for over a month now) does seem excessive. Not the best example as it is kind of a one time/personal thing but let's look at the others: Spoiler tags have been OOO for two months now. I think we got that message. Let us know when they have returned. Still plugging those fan shirts? Umm great. I'm not sure what the sales numbers look like but I guess only a few people on here will know if that announcement is actually working and making a difference. Discussion of Race and Sexuality...over 6 months? Really? By now I'm sure we have weeded out the trouble makers. That should just be archived and added to a general rules area. In fact, a number of these changes or updates can probably be sent out globally to the board as messages which could increase viewership of the rules or announcements and decrease deniability if someone were to say "I didn't see it." And pinning a popular thread in general seems silly. If it is popular then it will be easily located within the first two pages.

And pinning a popular thread in general seems silly. If it is popular then it will be easily located within the first two pages. First. The person in question who had a family member die is the guy who owns the Main Site and this forum. If he wants to put that message up there, then there won’t be many people objecting. And as explained in the topic, the family member concerned is a big reason as to why this place exists. Second. Spoiler tags will be f***ed up for a little while yet. The issue is with ProBoards preparing for the next big update. We can’t do anything about that. The announcement is there as the rules forum tells everyone the usual way to use the tags. Rather than changing the rules every time there is an issue with coding and then changing it again when the issue is fixed, it’s easier to just leave the announced thread up there until we know for sure. Third. I have no figures for sales numbers but the main site is paid for out of the own pocket of certain Staff Members. I think it’s ok for them to have one announced thread to advertise sales for something that might help them out in the long run. Fourth. Yes, the announcement is half a year old. It’s re-iterating a rule that is already in the Rules of the board, so there’s no real need to add it permanently to the Rules forum. It did have an improvement for a while over general attitudes in that area but as I pointed out earlier, the last month is the busiest period of new members, keeping it announced is just a way of reinforcing a point that has caused many recent issues. As for a mass PM, I think there’s only been two times that function has been used here. (the change to embedding non-official WWE videos and the night the WWE Current forum was closed down due to details of Chris Benoit’s death emerging). We’ve found that announcing threads may clutter up the board but the message gets across a lot more clearly than a mass Private Message. Regarding pinned threads. The main reason is not to prevent them falling, it’s to cut down on duplicate threads. It’s a lot easier to have one thread on the next PPV pinned at the top of the forum than it is to lock/merge/delete numerous similar threads.

It’s a lot easier to have one thread on the next PPV pinned at the top of the forum than it is to lock/merge/delete numerous similar threads. I read the thread and am fully aware of who owns the boards. Doesn't change my opinion one bit. It means something to Madison and his family/friends here. To outsiders it is a story with no personal connection having not known either of them. For me it is a reminder each and every time I come here of my own father's death and it reminds me each and every time of my dying mother. That is not why I come here. "Then don't come here" or "start your own board then" are the go-to responses. I get that...but it doesn't change my reasoning on the matter. Even if both of my parents were alive and healthy, I still would not have a personal connection to Madison or his mother which means it is just a story to myself and many others on here. "It isn't for you, it is for them! He owns it and can do whatever he wants!" Again, I respect that. But at some point it should come down or at the very least there should be a better way of memorializing a loved one on a board such as this (adding the thread to the archives, renaming a section after her, etc). I accept the other answers to my previous questions but kind of disagree with its efficiency or its general implementation. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Even with a larger user base it just appears that the problems caused are so few and far between. That has taken years of evolution, trail and error, etc. which I respect but one has to question when the oversight will have become too much.

I actually do have a question about the Fan Shirts thread. Would it be possible to somehow edit the forum banner itself off to display that announcement (and maybe even link?)? We have a lot of negative space to the right of the FAN logo, but I don't know what the restrictions are on how you guys are actually able to edit it.

Now, had anyone just asked - My plan was to leave the thread regarding my mother up through a couple of weeks or so after her funeral. Due to outside factors that I have no strength to go into here at the moment, that took almost five weeks after her passing to happen. So it will be up another week or so and then I will unpin it. Thank you to everyone else for understanding.
