We have reached Round 36!
In the event of a tie both will carry on to the next day to meet some other challenger. I will try and vary the sources from comics to TV show characters.
I'm also going to add a bit of story to this to make it interesting, it's still a favorite poll but it's going to have continuity!
I will happily take requests for future opponents. But in the meantime we have to continue the story ...
--------------------------------------
*Last time Zatanna and Kyle had an important choice to make.*
Zatanna: Very well we shall battle his evil together.
*As this is said Blackheart returns and prepares for Armageddon*
Blackheart: Heroes, I grow weary of your feeble attempts to stop me.
*Kyle and Zatanna say nothing, instead Kyle Constructs a green energy cage encasing blackheart and as Blackheart tries to break free Zatanna slowly whispers a spell*
Zatanna: mleaR s'otsihpeM ot kcab uoy hsinab I
Blackheart: Nooo!!! I won't go ..... alone!
*Blackheart siphons through the energy of the green lantern and flings out a magic demonic claw which grabs Zatanna. They both vanish*
Kyle: Zatanna!
*Zatanna blinks out of existence and then into existence in a world of weird shapes and bizarre landscapes.*
Zatanna: I don't think a Kansas reference would be really appropriate right now.
*A dog appears along with a small boy next to her as she falls*
Mr. Peabody: I heartily agree, now please leave this sort of thing to professionals.
*Mr Peabody gives Zatanna a shove and she falls into a spinning whirlpool looking structure, which drops her in the middle of San Francisco*
Iceman: Woah, hot chicks falling out of the sky, this makes a change from juggernaut rampages or the SKrulls. Need a hand lady?
Zatanna: Where am I?
Iceman: San Francisco, home of the X-men. I'm Iceman and you are ...
Zatanna: Kyle!
Iceman: Kyle? Odd name for a girl, but hey thats cool.
Zatanna: No I'm Zatanna, Kyle is my friend. I hope he's ok. Now I need to contact Doctor Fate he's in danger.
Iceman: Well your more than welcome to hitch a lift on the Ice express.
*Will Zatanna need Icemans help?*
Zatanna
Zatanna is the daughter of adventurer John Zatara and his wife Sindella, a member of the mystic tribe of sorcerers called the Hidden Ones, or Homo Magi. Zatanna inherited her mother's ability to manipulate magic and her father's penchant for heroism. Zatara travelled the world with his daughter and taught her to harness her magical abilities. Zatanna was later raised by strangers, however, when the evil witch Allura cursed Zatanna and prevented her from seeing her father. Zatanna was left to search fruitlessly for her natural parents. Zatanna discovered her father's diary and created a stage persona for herself. Her quest to find her father led her into a brief affair with John Constantine. Later, with the help of the Justice League Of America, Zatanna was able to lift Allura's curse and reunite with her father and later her mother. As a long standing member of the Justice League of America, Zatanna fought countless super-villains and mystic threats. After the death of her father, however, she retired from active adventuring. She now lives in San Francisco, seeking a normal life while trying to preserve the balance of Earth's light and dark mystical community. In this role she serves as one of the Sentinels of Magic. Zatanna is a powerful sorceress whose abilities are apparently genetic. As a tribute to her father and as a focal point, she usually casts spells by speaking verbal commands backwards. She has also proven capable on many occasions of casting spells by speaking normally, and, in rarer occasions, the ability to use magic for simple tasks without speaking. Like Black Canary, Zatanna's reliance on her voice often led to her being bound and gagged by villains in Silver Age stories, thus rendering her 'powerless'. On very rare occasions, Zatanna has cast spells by writing them in her own blood rather than speaking them aloud. As stated by herself and Batman, blood magic is far more powerful than spoken incantations, it's used as a last resort, only to heal from severe physical damage preventing her to speak, like having her larynx mangled by a bullet. Zatanna owns a mansion called Shadowcrest, in which she keeps a vast library of magical knowledge, as well as an arsenal of powerful relics, enough to do "just about anything you'd want to do." Shadowcrest seems to exist in a completely different dimension, although it is initially located outside of Gotham. Over the years she has had trust issues with other league members and catwoman when using her mind-wipe ability, this came to a head during the incident with Dr. Light.
vs
Iceman
Robert Drake was born in Floral Park, New York, Long Island, New York, to William Robert Drake and Madeline Beatrice Bass-Drake. Bobby's powers first manifest when he is on a date with Judy Harmon, and a local bully by the name of Rocky Beasely tries to take Judy away for himself. Knowing Judy cannot put up a good fight, Bobby points his hand at Beasely and encases him in a block of ice. Later, the local townspeople, having heard of the incident, come looking for him in the form of an angry mob. The local sheriff has no choice but to put Bobby in jail for his own "protection". While Bobby sits in his cell at the sheriff station, the outer wall is blown open, and a man named Scott Summers (Cyclops) walks in and offers to take Bobby with him. After Bobby turns him down, the two mutants get into a short battle, which is soon ended by Professor Charles Xavier. After Xavier has sat down and talked with Bobby and his parents, Bobby's parents suggest that he go with Professor Xavier to his "school for gifted youngsters". Bobby takes the suggestion and leaves with Professor Xavier and Cyclops to become the second member of the X-Men. He is later joined by Henry "Hank" McCoy, Jean Grey, and Warren Worthington III as the charter members of the X-Men. A mutant, Iceman has the ability of cryokinesis where he can freeze anything around him and can also turn his body into ice. Although he is an Omega-level mutant, Drake has yet to tap his full mutant potential. He has, however, begun to take more interest over the years in developing his abilities. One of the original X-Men, Iceman has had a frequent presence in X-Men (and Spider-Man)-related comics, video games, animated series, and movies.
