This is from Zap2it.com:
"WWE Smackdown!" will now dominate Friday, where its testosterone-driven antics will draw familiar ratings without tainting the rest of UPN's schedule.
Any thoughts?

surprisingly, this actually helps me. I am busy on Thurs. nights, so I never get to see SD. But now I do. But yeah, the ratings are going to drop.

how long after the move to fridays is the entire WWE moving to USA anyway? may not make a difference.

Friday night programming is generally aimed at a much younger demographic. My best guess is either one or two theories...
1. They are trying to screw the WWE over for leaving Viacom
2. They think because there is no other programming on network TV that could compete with SD in terms of that coveted 18-34 market

i wish everyone would stop pretending that wwe wants the 18 to 34. 18 to 34s you couldn't keep in on fridays even if you chained them down...
no this is for cenas demographic the 8-15 yr olds who are more of a "capitve audience" on fridays

But what if they move Cena to RAW and Batista to SD. A possible rumor that's been thrown around.

Thats actually gonna suck for me, I work Fridays and not Thursdays. I get to watch it right now, but once they move it I'm SOL.

I guess Christian will start lobbying to stay on RAW now. The 8-10pm Friday timeslot is a ratings ghost town. Seriously. Their contract with UPN is up in September 2006. So get ready for the next year of Smackdown! to be worse than the last 3 combined.

For me, this is good, cause I won't have to flip between SD and CSI anymore. But I have to agree... this can't be good for ratings. Many of my favorite shows have gotten moved to Fridays where they got canned shortly afterward.

That's not such a great idea. Most people are usually gone on Friday nights so do they think they'll really have enough viewers every week to watch the show?

darn it I would have to miss it (which to me is no big loss) unless they turn it on at the bar.

Doesn't matter to me as I rarely ever watch it now as it is. I'm usually watching Survivor or playing video games when I get the chance.
However, a Friday night slot is going to kick their ratings in the junk.
