I thought Warrior was confirmed? I think there was an article on that, but it was from a site I've never heard of before in my life before that article came out (can't even remember the site). I would venture to say that unless they confirm it on IGN, its not confirmed yet. IGN has always had a relationship with THQ that they usually get the scoops. It has been talked about that you can import wrestlers from SvR09. I think that is so you can import Cena, Triple H, HBK, Taker, Flair, and others ... though I would rather see classic attires from Triple H, HBK, Taker and Flair. I'd like to see Mankind in a WWE game again, but with his original brown shirt attire. I'm pretty sure all we've gotten of him from the SvR games is his dress shirt and tie days, but too bad he had to go to TNA and ruin his chances at being in this game. As far as the roster, I've been wanting Yokozuna in a game since they started doing legends.

I could go for a good Hogan vs Flair match.

Since Hogan, Andre, Heenan, Jimmy Hart, Rock and Austin are known in the game, who would be your other 34 if you could choose anybody from Wrestlemania I- XV? Here's my list:
1. Perfect 2. DiBiase 3. Bret Hart 4. Owen Hart 5. Razor 6. Diesel 7. Jake the Snake 8. Bruno Sammartino (he wasn't too much involved in WM, but he was there and I said anybody) 9. Piper 10. Jimmy Snuka 11. Macho Man 12. Tito Santana 13. Rick Martel 14. Bulldog 15. Warrior 16. Mankind 17. Hawk 18. Animal 19. Bossman 20. I.R.S. 21. Yokozuna 22. Bam Bam 23. Nikolai Volkoff 24. HBK 25. If I can't have Savage and Warrior, then this thing better at least have Sid.

If any must have wrestlers for this type of game - Macho, Warrior, Flair, Honky Tonk Man. I'm not getting it. Owen is the only one I can understand since they might not have permission.

I'm always a glass half empty kinda guy. For some reason I think expectations are too high. This is a game that has not been worked on too long, which has no real solid info yet. Its being released as part of Wrestlemania.
They way I see it, and I may be wrong, is that its just going to be a half-assed game to make a buck. I picture like those cheap Burger King games they sold for PS3 where you play cheap little games. I think its just going to be more of a novelty item and no as in-depth as the other Smackdown games. Just my opinion.

You mean THQ, who have been making glitchy, bugged wrestling games for years, removing good features and adding bad/half-assed new features, aren't competent enough to develop a different game quickly besides struggling with next year's SvR? Me too.

Though I don't think it will be THAT cheap, I do think we should all be a little more suspicious, especially considering how the gameplay was described on some review sites that had previews of it (From the reviews I read, it sounds kind of lame). Because when it comes down to it, the game might have three alternate costumes for Shawn Michaels, but it also might play like WCW Nitro for PS1, or have gameplay that makes us clamor for even the flaws SvR system.

IGN had a 2 or 3 page preview of this just the other day. I got the impression it was going to suck.
Pretty much because they said it was going to suck.

Judging by the pics on that website, it looks like Taker, Bret Hart, Ric Flair and LOD are gonna be in the game.

Here's my incredibly unlikely wishlist for the game's roster
1 - Hulk Hogan (with Hollywood Hogan and 2005 alternate attires) 2 - Andre the Giant 3 - Steve Austin 4 - The Rock 5 - Bret Hart 6 - Jim Neidhart 7 - Ric Flair 8 - Demolition Ax 9 - Demolition Smash 10 - Shawn Michaels (With Rockers, WM10 and WM12 attires) 11 - Marty Jannetty 12 - Road Warrior Animal 13 - Road Warrior Hawk 14 - Jake "The Snake" Roberts 15 - Mr. Perfect 16 - Rowdy Roddy Piper 17 - Sgt. Slaughter 18 - Hacksaw Jim Duggan 19 - Mr. T 20 - Sycho Sid 21 - The Undertaker (grey or purple gloves with the ripped sleeve shirt and boot thingies) 22 - Honky Tonk Man 23 - Ravishing Rick Rude 24 - The Ultimate Warrior 25 - Hercules 26 - Big Boss Man 27 - King Kong Bundy 28 - Dusty Rhodes 29 - The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase 30 - Earthquake 31 - Diesel 32 - Owen Hart 33 - The British Bulldog 34 - Razor Ramon 35 - Yokozuna 36 - Jimmy Hart 37 - Mr. Fuji 38 - Bobby Heenan 39 - Slick 40 - Sensational Sherri
Now for the Downloadable Content
Tag Team Turmoil 1 - The Nasty Boys 2 - The Bushwackers 3 - Edge and Christian 4 - The Hardy Boyz
WWE's Attitude Adjustment 1 - Goldust 2 - Big Van Vader 3 - Al Snow 4 - Ken Shamrock 5 - Kane 6 - Mr. McMahon
DX-Rated 1 - X-Pac 2 - HHH 3 - Chyna 4 - DX attire for HBK
And the ultimate DLC.....
MACHO MADNESS
1 - Early 80's Savage (trunks with MACHO MAN and 3 star design) 2 - Macho King Randy Savage 3 - early 90's face Savage with the goofy cowboy hat and entrance jackets 4 - nWo Savage 5 - Miss Elizabeth
Who wouldn't pay $60 for that game and then $5-20 for the DLC packages?
I'd be all for adding Foley or the Outlaws into the Attitude and DX packs respectively, but since they are currently under TNA contract, its incredibly unlikely and quite possibly legally impossible. I know I listed Diesel but....dammit its my list I dont have to explain myself.
Also, that IGN preview makes the gameplay sound suspiciously similar to Acclaim's LOW series....god help us all if thats the case.

I'm way less excited to play the game after reading that preview.
The move chaining thing sounds really lame.

I love the fact that the Winged Eagle Title is in the game...the picture of it on the Rock was awesome even if he never actually held that specific title...

After reading the review, I hold hope that the roster delivers so that I can at least want to rent it for a week and try it out.
Here's the thing though, THQ is trying a new wrestling game aside from the Smackdown series. They are risking quite a bit making it more arcade style, less about simulation. However, if the 40 characters in it are ones we all want from Wrestlemania past, will that change our bias?
For me it looks like a reflection of better days in the WWF, which is a huge plus.
Heenan is in the game which means they have the possibility of the Heenan Family all being represented. If not the whole, you got at least Flair, Andre, Rude, and Perfect. I'm hoping for King Haku, The Brainbusters, The Red Rooster, and Hercules as well.
Jimmy Hart brings awesome to the game as well. The Hart Foundation, Dino Bravo, The Fabulous Rougues(sp), Greg the Hammer Valentine, Earthrquake, and The Honky Tonk Man, need to be represented.
Mr. Fuji needs to be in as well with Yokozuna, and Demolition, possibly the Orient Express in his stable.
And if you have all those manger stables then you got to have the doctor of style Slick in there. He brings, One Man Gang, The Powers of Pain, The Big Boss Man, and doubtful they will, Butch Reed.
Macho Man deserves to be in this game, end of story.
But some other singles guys I can think of that deserve some game time are,
Don the Rock Muraco Bad News Brown Texas Tornado Kerry Von Erich Ricky the Dragon Steamboat The Model Rick Martel Koko B. Ware The Genius Lanny Poffo The Junkyard Dog Hillbilly Jim Roddy Piper Cowboy Bob Orton Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorf George the Animal Steele Billy Jack Hanes Hacksaw Jim Duggan Sargent Slaughter The Iron Shiek Nicoli Volkov The Million Dollar Man Ted Debiase w/Virgil Jake The Snake
But I don't think all of these wrestlers from the eighties are going to be in the game. They put Austin and Rock in after all. Which means most of the roster will go to the Attitude characters. That's where I have my doubts in the selection. Personally, there were only a few 90's guys that I'd want in the mix. HBK, The Undertaker, Mankind, Kane, Goldust, Razor Ramon, and Diesel. However, I'm hoping for less of the Attitude because they have been in every wrestling game I've played since 1996. I'd rather play classic WWF since that's where I started watching wrestling.
I can't say just what THQ will do, that's why I'm going with renting it.
