Just got back from the show. Easily the best show I've ever been to, and I went to Wrestlemania XIX. I don't know how it came across on TV, but people went APES*** when Cena got eliminated.
-Lawler and Cole looked asleep during the Smackdown chamber.
-Matt Striker is awesome. Totally put over the chamber as he came out to commentate (constantly looking up at it), very intent in watching the action.
-Smattering of "You screwed Bret" chants from the Canadian contingent at Key Arena.
-Dark match was Beth Phoenix vs. Melina for the Women's title. Melina retained after a Shining Wizard variation. Rosa Mendes looks fantastic. Santino was great at ringside.
-I managed to catch a funny bit of interaction between Santino and Tony Chimel. Santino was yelling at him to ring the bell during a submission hold, and Chimel was getting ready to do it until the timekeeper intervened and threatened to hit Chimel with the bell hammer.
-Some English guy was a total mark for Mike Knox. It was the best thing ever. Complete with loud "NOOOOOOOO!" as he was eliminated.
I'll try and think of more. I'm way psyched.

-There was a guy a few rows behind me screaming for Edge's blood. "HE'S NOT A REAL CANADIAN! HE DOESN'T EVEN LIKE HOCKEY!"
-Swagger vs. Finlay was a decent enough match, but it got zero reaction. There were some slight boring chants, a "We want Christian" chant at the start of the match, and some guys were trying to start a "You can't wrestle" chant against Swagger, I guess.

They called Jericho an insult to Canadians, they say Edge isn't a real canadiam since he doesn't like hockey, and can't get over the whole "Montreal Screwjob" despite the fact that it's been over 12 years since the event transpired. I mean no offense to anybody who is Canadian here. I just find it weird how ruthless some of these fans are. |

Speaking as a Canadian, I was NEVER upset with the screwjob. I was always an HBK fan and i still am to this day. Fans that hold onto something from 12 YEARS ago are ridiculous. I was not in the slightest upset by it, nor have I EVER cahnted "You Screwed Bret". It's ridiculous. |

This show was AMAZING live. I had great seats on camera side and had a perfect view of the action which made it all the better. Both Elimination Chambers were booked fantastically, as the whole arena seemed absolutely in shock several times during both of them.
And I have to agree with the original poster on the Cena thing. The building went frigging nuts when he got pinned so early. I literally jumped out of my seat out of markdom. I popped huge for his loss and Edge's victory.
Something hilarious that happened during Orton's intro was him glaring at my entire section. We were sitting towards the front of the first section of bleacher seats that directly faced the ringpost that he does his pose on. Well when he stood on the turnbuckle, most of us were clapping for him over our heads and giving him the thumbs up, and I guess as a heel this pissed him off, because he stared daggers in our general direction.

See, the only reason I find that mentality silly is this: If they don't want the heels to have fans, they probably shouldn't sell T-Shirts for them.  Besides, I agree with the Orton character's stance against the McMahons, therefore I cheer. |
