OK, I'm bringing this up as a spinoff from the Deadpool May Be Saved thread...as you may be aware, there are supposedly several scenes after the movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" ends, detailing what happens to several characters. Now, I know for a fact that there are 2 scenes after the movie ends, and now possible a third, with even more. There are plenty of movies with callbacks like this, they tend to be pretty fun, and lately, this has become a very popular thing to do lately, especially among Marvel movies. But I'm starting to feel it may start to be going overboard, as evident by the Wolverine movie. I'm not sure what the hook is, whether studios are trying to give a little more to fans, or if they're trying to hook some people who want to see some cool stuff after the movie. But it is getting to be overkill now. So, cinephiles...has Scenes After The Credits Jumped The Shark? Discuss.

Nope, because usually they either set up sequels or are just for fun. For example, Dodgeball's was just for shits and giggles, and same as most of the Pirates of the Caribbean ones.

Honestly I like them. Sure if I actually break into the business and people don't see my credit because their too busy watching Will Ferrell f*** up lines, I might be annoyed, but for now I like them.

Dont ever use them as an actual plot point. Once the credits are rolling the story should be pretty much over...

I don't mind them really, as long as someone tells me that something is at the end.
In Wolverine's case this is just an attempt by FOX to get more people going to the theaters in order to possibly see all endings which will not work.

They're a pain in the arse for anyone who works in a Cinema. You only have a limited time to clean up after sometimes hundreds of people and get the auditorium ready for the next showing. And you have to wait for the credits to finish because people have heard there is a scene at the end of it.

I always sit through the credits anyway, so I like getting a little reward. I wish more movies had an after-credit scene.

I stay til the end regardless if its a good movie, I actually want to see who made the thing. I guess this means I'm hated. But after spending 16 bucks, I kinda feel I can enjoy that extra 3 minutes.

I blame Ferris Bueler<Sp>. Why? He had one of the first ones that was popular with the go home line.

Didn't the AIRPLANE movies have crazy names and job titles in the credits?

He had one of the first ones that was popular with the go home line. Also, the scene with the principal getting on the bus after the incident at the Bueller's house resulted in a first (or at the very least, a rarity) in moviedom. The character of the little girl the principal sits next to is actually mentioned by name and identified before she actually appears in the movie.

Didn't the AIRPLANE movies have crazy names and job titles in the credits? Yep, that is standard fare for all of the Zucker Brother's movies.

He had one of the first ones that was popular with the go home line. But there was also no fade to black credits, it was more scenes.

These along with blooper reels. Sure it was funny at first but now it just seems lame and hokey. The Bloopers just seem too forced these days.
