Pop! Soda infers soda water was used, not always true. Coke implies it was made by Coca cola, pop is product neutral!
And I gave it up and lost 70 pounds in 2 months. caffeine withdrawal was no deal really.

More so, 50 of it was in about 2 weeks. I was at 270. I sit at 205 today, but I had at one point gotten down to 195(and still can get there at times).

Good for you. I gave up pop/powerade/juice/everything but water, coffee, milk, and actual fruit juice like Dole or Tropicana. I did that 5 years ago. I don't even think about pop, I've forgotten what it tastes like. I'm sure if I tried it again, I'd throw up from it being so syrupy.

I did that several months, maybe a year ago. I've been a lifetime addict. Day 2 was worst for me, at one point in the afternoon I literally just had to lay down for a while, whether it was the sugar, caffeine or both probably. But after the second day it was all uphill. Like someone else said you like water more eventually, and for me at least drinking bottled water was almost tricking myself a bit because that almost became a new habit. Funny thing is I went several months without any. I eventually started drinking it again and do still now but it's different, I could drop it like that if I wanted to, there's not that "have to have it" feeling, it's just a matter of liking the taste.
Quitting something relatively mild though, I'd hate to be addicted to drugs or cigarettes or something that's worse, I can tell you that.

Only sheltered rich kids say "soda". Real men say "pop".

Strange, considering the distance that I call it pop as well, most people in this area do.

I went 6 months without awhile back and wasn't that hard. My only struggle was finding something else to drink while on the run. Drank a lot of water and Gatorade. Didn't lose any weight though.
Ended up giving in and drinking cokes again at WWE's Night of Champions PPV. I waited for 3 hours outside in the 100+ weather and wasn't about to drop $8 on a bottle of water.
Anyway, good luck.

Soda? Pop? Cola? Coke? Where I live, we call it Jezebel Juice.
Seriously, though, good luck man. I unknowingly weened myself off the stuff around a year ago. I still have one every so often if I'm in the mood, but it's nice being able to go with something healthier and tastier, imo, like Lipton's Green and White Teas or Vitamin Water.

Deli meat seems an odd replacement for soda.

Why did you decide to quit? And why dont you get some caffeine pills so you dont get headaches? Everyone here calls it "Coke" or just specifies... I'm dieting and trying to go from about 215 down to around 200. So nothing but water from now on. And I thought about getting the caffeine pills, but figured I could just pop an Excedrine. Just don't pop to many. Lets just say an ambulance ride, and a few days in the hospital were not fun.

Two usually get rid of even the worse headaches for me. Day 1 down, with some serious fatigue/headache issues! I had to stop running midway through my usual run because I was just worn the hell out.
