I've only just started to get back into it with Hasbro's 3 3/4 inch Marvel Universe figures.
Though last year I did pick up a few Indiana Jones Figures.
Who else picks up the occasional toy?

If you count McFarlane Sports Picks, then yes. I have around 50. Also have a few WWE Classic Superstars and somewhere I still have my Star Wars collection

I got a shelf in my room for my figure collection. They are not all "Action" but they do look cool. On the roll call is; * Old Snake (MGS4) * Joker (Dark Knight) * Pikachu (McDonalds toy) * Richard Nixons Head (Futurama) * Super Mario * Peter Griffin Bobblehead (Family Guy) * Bob-Omb (Super Mario) * Optimus Prime (Transformers) (Mcdonalds Toy) * Ric Flair statuette * Zapp Brannigan (Futurama) * Deadpool * Godzilla (1968) * Bender bobblehead

I have a few of the Indiana Jones figures, as well as some George Lucas Stormtrooper figures stored away in the hopes they will be worth something in 20 years or so.
But then, as one comic book evaluator once said, "Do you know why Spider Man #1 is worth so much money? Because its rare! And do you know why it's rare? Because back in the day, NOBODY thought to actually preserve and collect comic books. Nowadays, you have speculators hoarding all these comic books that will never be worth anything because there will always be millions of them available."
I had a coworker who had every G1 and G2 Transformer, mint condition, in the box, in display cases in his study. And he had a 6 year old son.
I would say having a house full of those awesome-looking toys in the pristine packages, but not being allowed to touch them, is tantamount to emotional child abuse.

I actually have a rather large collection of toys, consisting of: -Beast Wars/Machines Transformers from both of the American cartoons and the Japanese cartoons. -Various other beast-related Transformers from such series as Energon and Cybertron. -The 2007 Movie line of Transformers -The Transformers Universe/Classics 2.0 line -The Transformers Animated line -A mix of the initial Transformers Classics line and the Japanese equivelant. -Select pieces from the Marvel Transformers line (namely, the ones based on Avengers, like Hulk and Captain America). -The 3 3/4 Marvel Universe line In all, I have about 250 Transformers, plus about a dozen Marvel Universe figures, and most are still in their original packaging (though I do open them up long enough to transform them occasionally). I'm a firm believer of getting toys free of their packaging. Ditto, to an extent. For stuff like Transformers, I think you have to take them out, just to occasionally look at both forms. But, I've also discovered the joys of keeping them in their packaging. They may take up more room that way, but it helps dusting my collection much easier.

Good i'm glad someone made this cuz I cant find the other thread. I'll post pics later but I have lots of action figures from over the years.
But yea I dont get why people dont take thier figures out of packaging. If you do it so its "value" is higher then why do you buy something mainly for the intent of possibly selling it?

True, but some are just soooo cool you got let them out to breathe! That being said the majority of figures I buy now I don't open because of resell value.

As for me, I used to be into collecting many different action figures, but most of them are now resigned to live in a travel bag under my bed due to space issues. These days, I'm content to only collect Transformers, although lately I've been drawn in by the 3" G.I. Joe figures. I currently have six of 'em displayed just to the left of my computer. I'll post pics one of these days if I feel like it.

I have thousands of them, mostly DC and Marvel stuff, but also lots of randomness. This however is the crown jewel of my collection: 18" Patrick Bateman that speaks. I saw this at Suncoast back in 2005 and marked so hard I nearly pissed myself.
