Probably.
Another question. Is the new title of this thread over the fact that some anti-Canes fan is upset with the PP and PP goal that resulted from the RIGHT CALL being made when Staal was taken down in front of the net.
If that was a dive, then he defied the laws of physics with that dive. Also, the linesmen screwed up two Icing calls tonight. The first one which led to the first goal and the second one in OT when Ward made a play at the puck going by at the red line.

This eastern conference final is gonna' be floptastic. The NHL will finally be able to give basketball a run for its money.
Disappointed at the way it turned out, but there's always next year. Marco Sturm and Matt Hunwick will be 100% by then, so I'll have something to look forward to.

It doesn't bother me that the Bruins lost. It bothers me that the coward had the game-winning goal. It bothers me that the sucker-punching pussy scored the game-winner. Scott Walker throws a cheap shot and is lauded for it by his fellow pussies from Carolina. It bothers me that people from the state of North Carolina enjoy more hockey. Yes, nothing screams exciting playoff hockey like North f***ing Carolina. Make sure you go wild, Hurricanes fans...when the jumbotron commands you to wave your towels or bang your thundersticks. Otherwise, you'd be totally lost. This is the bed you made, Gary Bettman. Enjoy the 0.8 ratings in the Conference Finals, but hey, at least you'll get sell outs at the RBC Center! You're spreading hockey nationally! Hurricanes fans unite! ... Until the 'Canes fan realize that hockey is utterly irrelevant to them and they sell maybe 10,000 tickets for regular season games in 2009-2010. Dude, I was thought the punch was pretty sketchy till I heard an interview with Ward the other night. Not an exact quote, but he basically said "I was just standing there, keeping an eye on Walker because I thought a punch might be coming and then he sucker punched me." That killed all sympathy I had for Ward. He openly said he thought a punch might be coming, yet did nothing to prepare for said punch. Walker made it pretty obvious he was gonna deck him, when a game is still going and someone takes off their gloves it's not to shake hands. Also, Carolina has one of the loyalist fanbases in all of American hockey. Of all the Southern teams they are the one I would be really pissed about them moving. That being said, I felt the reffing in both games tonight was pretty s***. Tonnes of uncalled penalties in both games, and I'm not talking obstruction ones or something like that but full blown trips, slashes and questionable hits. The hit on Selanne should have been a 4 min. not a 2 because he was bleeding, the bad Pronger call etc. And Cleary's goal was goaltender interference, as Cleary clearly had his stick under Hiller's pad making him unable to put it flush with the ice. In the rule book that is a disallowed goal. I have no idea why that wasn't reviewed. Overall, the officials did a terrible job tonight.

The refs forgot their whistles in the dressing room before OT tonight both ways. Boston and later Carolina realized they weren't calling anything possibly borderline. Thankfully the skill level picked up so it didn't turn ugly.
And just to emphasize the Canes fanbase loyalty, as I speak there are hundreds of Caniaks at the Raleigh/Durham Airport awaiting the team to touchdown sometimes in the next 30 minutes.

Carolina ranked #21 in attendance just three years after winning the Cup. Lets not start getting too cocky now.

In fact, RBC is pretty big (and nice, I've been there). Not trying to knock 'em, but lets be reasonable. Everybody is a loyalist come playoffs.

Carolina ranked #21 in attendance just three years after winning the Cup. Lets not start getting too cocky now. That's because the RBC Center only seats 18,680 for hockey, which is lower than a lot of attendance averages for other teams. We sell it out some times, but college basketball is king in the area and if there is a top game on TV or elsewhere in the area (Chapel Hill and Duke are both within an hour) forget about it. The 10% unemployment rate in the area doesn't help either. We've done pretty good for all those things working to a disadvantage. Also, Boston is #16 in attendance, so lets keep things in perspective.

That's well over 1,000 more than the Garden holds, and waaaay over what Pittsburgh, Edmonton and Anaheim hold. RBC Center is above average. Boston's attendance is probably why I'm not making outlandish statements. That, and we haven't been to two Stanley Cup Finals in the past 7 years.

Barnaby really needs smackintheface.
He says the Pens will win the Prince of Wales because "Carolina just went through an seven game series". I guess I imaged the Caps and Pens playing seven games.

You also haven't been dead last or near dead last in four of those seven years. And one of those years, there was no hockey. So Carolina either goes to the Cup finals or finished in the cellar.

That's the thing about former pros doing TV after their done, the good ones get other hockey jobs, the bad ones get to talk on TV. Why else would PJ Stock even have a job?

I can't believe I'm using that as a point without crying The Bruins haven't even been in the same building with the Stanley Cup in 20 years. Here's hoping for 09-10.

We've been around for only 10 or so (the two years in the Greensboro Coliseum don't count, the team would have been better off in Hartford those two years). Another thing, this victory also go out to those longtime Hartford fans who had to deal with Bruins fans in their upper deck of the Civic Center all those years. There are quite a few Whalers fans on the Canes' message boards who are still loyal. The RBC Center actually has the goal horn from the Hartford Civic Center and most the upper management and announcers has stayed the same.

Trust me, Barnaby's no fan of the Pens. Don't start taking shots at the other side just because some Bruins fans rubbed you the wrong way...
