I say Billy Graham is in the wrong here.
WWE has a lot to handle besides a "consultant" so sending him a stock termination letter makes sense.
Billy Graham has bashed WWE in the past....but seems ok with their evils when he's getting paid. Then when he gets cut off....he runs to the internet about it.
I doubt WWE really cares if he uses the name or not.....there isn't much value left to be made in that name anyway.

Yeah, Billy shoulda checked first before shooting his mouth off like that.
And let's remind Billy: after years of negativity, Vince reached out to him back in '01 or '02 when he was having that liver disease scare and patched things up with him. Do evil men do that?

It should probably also be noted that WWE said that they don't own the name. WWE RESOLVES SUPERSTAR GRAHAM ISSUE by Mike Johnson @ 3:49 PM on 5/4/2009 World Wrestling Entertainment sources confirmed this afternoon that the company does not intend to prevent former WWF champion Superstar Graham from using his ring name now that they have released him from his consultant's contract. I was told the verbiage in the contract was simply standard issue for all performers, but since Graham has been using the names forever, there isn't an issue in WWE's eyes and he is free and clear to do whatever he wishes outside of their auspices. EDIT: Don't forget that Graham has pulled crap like this before as well. He's a bitter man major ass, it seems. Fixed! Hey Billy, lay off the Dianabol, ok?

He is evil. But he's a businessman. Hand in hand.

He wasn't so evil when he was cutting your cheques, eh Superstar? Well, and I'm usually one of the last people to defend Vince, but that's how it happens a lot. I remember around 2001, Roddy Piper was busy telling everyone who'd listen that Vince was horrible to the boys, and how shitty of a person Vince was, and then, once Vince needed him and started paying him, all of a sudden none of those comments existed. So it's not a terribly uncommon occurence.

Does anyone else find the painting of a dead wrestler example he gives to be really really bizarre? I don't know him personally, but Superstar strikes me as a very odd guy. Yeah, I was thinking that too. So... he wants to paint a picture of Eddie Guerrero, but is upset that he couldn't sign it? And yeah, I think they just sent him a form letter without realizing it, and that they never really intended to try to keep him from using his name. I think he was talking about Eddie Graham not Eddie Guerrero.

Agreed with most of the sentiment here, makes Graham look practically bi-polar. Don't rush to such a strong statement right off the cuff like that.
Imagine reacting that emphatically in day-to-day life.
"Here's some ice-cream." "Fantastic. I want some more." "I think you've had enough." "YOU'RE EVIL! EEEEEVILLLLL!" "Alright, we've got some strawberry flavour." "You're the best ever! Yum!" "That's the last of the strawberry though." "EEEEVIILLLLLLL!"

I don't think a preacher like Superstar would use those words. really I've never heard pastors talk like that of their fellow human beings, unless they are one of those televangelist

I am cutting the Superstar a break, here. He is not in the best of health and may be having some financial problems, too. It was not as if he heard a rumor saying that he could not use his name anymore, it was in the letter that was sent (even though that was fixed). One's reaction to such news is not always going to be a calm, rational one.
Without Superstar, no Hulkster, no 80's golden era, etc., etc., etc.

I think he was talking about Eddie Graham not Eddie Guerrero. And for some reason Eddie Gilbert was the first name to come to my mind. Maybe he should just do a Mount Rushmore collage of Eddie G's and sign his name to that. But yeah, I didn't really know that his name had become such a draw in the painting community. Still, you can't blame the guy for getting worked up if he thought Vince had just fired him and stolen his name. The whole 'he wasn't evil when he paid me' sentiment overlooks that, doesn't it?

That quote made me realize if a movie was made about Vince, it would have to star Al Pacino. They're both so over the top it's a perfect fit.

Just another bitter old wrestler who wasn't smart with his finances and now wants to blame Vince for his own stupidity.
