I agree entirely. Too many people seem to think 'kid fans' are a bad thing. They are what we were once upon a time. It is sad to think there are adults who enjoy ruining the experience of a live WWE event for a child. At mania in Orlando, I ended up cheering a lot of the heels. There were some kids in front of me, and they asked why. so I told them kayfabe reasons, like I root for Edge because I like a guy who will do whatever it takes to get the job done, that sort of thing. It was a blast because whenever a heel got beaten (like Umaga) they would turn around and look at me to celebrate. It was overall just a lot of fun, and I got to root for who I wanted without ruining someone elses time.

To be fair, it isnt REALLY a good way of dealing with them because to them they effectively "won," got over and got John Cena's attention which is exactly what they wanted, so.. Not Really Cena came over and Laughed at them along with the Crowds

I don't see how Cena's justified in this. All it did was garner attention their way, and make Cena try to put one over them. by...taking a pciture of himself in front of the guys?
...how does he win this one? How is this the last laugh?

If I was flicking and cursing off a guy and he walked up smiling and posed for pictures in front of me and completely blew me off, I'd be pretty much owned. It only would have been better if he was wearing a shirt that showed he made more money then all of them put together, but that would require he actually care about them and had forethought.

I'm just the opposite - even if I like a heel better I always cheer the face and boo the heel when I'm actually at a live show. Its more fun for me that way. I love classic heel taunts like, "You're a jerk Del Rey!" or "You'll never put her away!" when the face keeps kicking out. What I love most is really getting into it though. Yelling stuff like, "Stop it! Stop it! For goddsake's you're killing him! YOU MONSTER!" or my new favorite is whenever someones got an opponent in any kind of body scissors like hold I always yell, "SQUEEZE!" Stuff like that is always the best when I'm at a show.

I don't even remember the incident at Mania last year and I was there.
I do remember a group of kids in their early to mid teens that went around all day before the show with an anti-Cena sign and had people who hated him sign it though.

This reminds me of what he did at Summerslam 2006 after his match with Orton. There was this guy with a "If Cena wins, we riot" sign sitting by the aisle. So as he's walking back to the dressing room, he stops by the guy with the sign, and simply shrugs his shoulders as if to say sorry.
Or perhaps he was waiting for his riot.

It wasn't last year, it was this year's. Some fan had a sign that said "Rock > Cena" and as Cena was leaving the ring, he saw the sign, pointed at it, and smiled.

That's one thing I like about Cena, he knows how to deal with some asshole/s in the crowd without coming off as a prick or risking landing in hot water. Unlike Orton who seems to have the mentality of a caveman. A lot of the "reports" about Randy and fans are mostly one sided since a differing report pops up that states the fans were in the wrong.

That really is the best way to deal with hecklers, is to catch them off guard and play into the heckling. I can recall two heckles that I witnessed at shows several years ago:
Good Way to Address Heckling: The Smoking Gunns were entering the ring, and someone yelled out "Smoking Gunns Suck!" So Billy Gunn looked over at him and said "Yeah I know, but don't tell everyone!" All the fans in the general vicinity laughed, and the guy who heckled even laughed it off.
Bad Way to Address Heckling: Some guy was heckling Bam Bam Bigelow (a face at the time, mind you), and Bam Bam went up to him and said "You bought the ticket and you're making me money, so what's your problem". This made all the fans in the general vicinity feel odd (since we ALL had to pay to see him, and now we all felt like marks with dollar signs on our foreheads), and the general feeling was that Bam Bam was kind of a d-bag.

While it's always heart-warming to hear of very obnoxious fans getting a small measure of supposed pay back, I also accept that if they really don't like John Cena, and they pay to go see an event in which John Cena happens to perform, they have every right to boo John Cena. Even if they do sound like gits.

I once sat near some guys (like 30-40 range) and they were full blown yelling at children who were cheering Cena.
Luckily one of the parents up and punched one of them.

Thats exactly what he did at Wrestlemania to those two knobs who were wearing the "We Hate Cena" shirts. It was one of my favorite moments ever. Is there a clip of this?

They probably buy(or get bought for them) the most merchandise, and they probably get the most emotionally involved in the show, ensuring that no matter how many 'smart' fans there are you will still get that natural, authentic, visceral reaction. I love the almost weekly "Let's go Cena/Let's go <insert heel>" anyway.

I'm all for being cool about it if you want to cheer the heels, like jd did. That's an awesome idea and it winds up working on all levels. Sadly, whether their "smarks" or just straight up fans who have never gone online about wrestling in their lives, you'll find obnoxious fans all across the board. Does a fan who runs his mouth about "Guy X sucks blah blah" sound any different if he's running his mout about a heel or a face? Does it matter if it's a midcarder or is it only a main eventer that he shouldn't trash?
Personally speaking , while I find what Cena did kinda cool, I do find it ironic. The whole "celebrate like crazy in front of a group of fans that hate you" is a tried and true heel tactic. So, if it means we get a bit of depth in Cena's on screen character, I'm all for it.

How are they "proving how smart they are" by giving Cena abuse
Unless they were talking about the merits of his STF versus other wrestlers or giving his match 2 stars etc. it sounds to me like they were expressing their opinion towards a wrestler (Heaven forbid if that's the case) Okay they might not have been using clean-cut language but lets by honest when they are at a show that has various grown men legitimately hurting each other (in the kids eyes) is that really the worst thing the kids are going to be affected by
By the way, I don't mind Cena either way, just the way I see it

I hate those 'We hate Cena fans'. I can understand people being a bit tired of him a few years ago when he was over pushed, hell i was one of them, but seriously get over it. The guy is a great wrestler, who has stellar matches and is a class act. Those fans are just smarks stuck in the attitude era. I apallued Cena for acknowledging those fickle fans. I doubt there stuck in the attitude era...the anti-Cena era has Edge, Morrison, The Miz, Orton, Jeff, Rey, Jericho, hell even HHH still has his fans. There not fickle, they just don't like the guy. Get over it.
