A lot of Wrestlers/Superstars/Sports Entertainers/Whatevers in the 90's had worked in the indies or at least been in a position to see what got over and what didn't. The newer guys coming up have less of a feel for the business than the guys in the 90's because they are less worldly than the likes of Austin were. Credit for WWE for trying, but 90% of any ideas todays guys come up with will be poor because they only know one way, the WWE scripted way, it's what they have known for their entire time in the industry.

I agree with that, but I would also think that young guys today at least know about or have watched/are fans of the older guys and they could pick out ideas from them here and there.

Most Samoan wrestlers are fat so being "Fat and Samoan" more often than not goes hand in hand. And Im sure WWE isnt going to play an indie fued into a storyline. Its an uppercarder cutting his teeth on the Smackdown brand who needs to beat up the guy who is occasionally an unbeatable monster.

Care to eloborate on this at all? Yes. So what response are they likely to get? Oh surprise, surprise....another talent thinking it'd be a really super idea to push them. Who'd have thought it? It's just an utter waste of everyones time. This seemed really silly to me. Encouraging people to be creative and brainstorm is something that all workplaces benefit from. Here's an example: Jesse is now without Festus on SmackDown, and will likely just flounder. Now, what if he comes up with a new idea for his character that Stephanie likes, so he takes it to TV and it gets over. Was that meeting really a waste of time if it spawned even one new star? I wouldn't think so.

If someone pitches an idea and runs with it, and gets over, then great. If they pitch an idea, and it bombs, at least they can say they tried. Certainly beats the whole "creative has nothing for them" reason for someone getting zero TV time.
