This is not good. not at all I know its been cool to make fun of him for about the past decade(one could easily make the argument that much of that is his own doing), but no matter what he may have done or not done, regardless of how much of a weirdo he may be, no one can argue how great and influential his music was. Second only to maybe the Beatles or Elvis as far as influence goes. He basically ushered in the new era of pop music. To this day, Thriller is an awesome album. And rightfully the best selling album in the world.

Not only that but he made dancing in music videos a popular thing and revived the trend of certain songs having specific dance moves. hell, he pretty much made music videos, period. Before videos like Billie Jean and Thriller, look back at music videos. Usually it was a shots of a band performing, either in studio or an arena, with footage of hot girls and maybe cars cut in there. He was one of the first to make music videos about things other than just strictly the music. I remember reading on Cracked that MTV actually wasn't going to air Billie Jean as they didn't think there was a market for it. And you wonder why we still have crap on there now...

If it was CPR that is very bad news. CPR is performed on clinically dead people, and is only successful about 10% of the time. Yeah, that's what scares me the most. It all hinges on how fast the response was.

Not good. He may have gotten weirder over the years, but "Beat It" is a classic.

I really hope he pulls through, and one of the (albeit minor) reasons is because it's going to be REALLY incensing to see all the people who have mocked and insulted him for 15 - 20 years suddenly kiss his ass.
NOT knocking/judging previous posters at all this is not about you, but the ensuing media/public outpouring of crocodile tears that is inevitable.

Oh man, what a bad day. I hope he gets better. All jokes aside, I don't wish bad health on anyone.

I'm not a fan of the guy from a personal standpoint but no one can deny the impact he had on music. He's an icon, and a legend. If we lost him it would be a blow beyond belief.

The sad part is, if this is his demise, most people(both those paid to talk about and otherwise) will talk more about his eccentric personal life rather than his music. At best, the two will probably be given equal coverage.

He was fairly good friends with Farrah, was he not? And he had been in ill health for the past week or so, right?
Maybe the news of her passing overwhelmed him with emotion....was too much for him.
But I don't want to speculate on that. Who knows what caused it. I just want him to be ok.

Wow. This month has not been good at all. Here's to hoping he'll pull through. Like many have said, he's caught a lot of flack the last decade or so, but he had some damn good songs.

The other day I was in a grocery store parking lot and at an intersection nearby someone had Billie Jean real loud.

I'm getting really worried. More worried than before. TMZ pretty has become dead.
They were updating like crazy, but now it is stone silent....

News is traveling like wildfire amongst celebs. Hopefully medics got to him in time, and the "not looking good" thing was because the family were shocked to see the crews working oh him like that.

Don't know how reputable they are but a website called X17online.com has sources saying he's passed away.

I think the fame just drove him crazy. I can't imagine not being able to go outside without being mobbed, and that was his entire life. He never had any privacy.

It's one thing not to insult someone you have spent years treating like shit once they die but quite another to do a 180 like I'm sure a lot of people are going to do. Also, I'm NOT saying there haven't been legitimate reason to criticize the man..that's one thing...but he was treated like a walking joke even before his legal troubles.
