Wait: Punisher was in JLA/Avengers?! I was jobbed to Batman. That seems... random. I know from the third and fourth issues that they included as many characters as possible, but they were all Avengers or JLA members. I didn't know guys like Frank got featured as well despite not being a member of either team.

I withdraw some of my objection to the JLA/Avengers thing, then. I never got my hands on the first two issues (my local comic book store never seemed to have them, for some reason), and everything I had read on it to catch me up to the issues I did manage to get described the fight as Supes taking Thor out with one punch. I didn't know there was an actual fight leading up to that punch. So, mia culpa on that. I stand by my statement that Supes could use his super speed to prolong a fight just as he can use it to end it, though. Seems in-character to me for him to be fighting a guy and suddenly think (Hm, this guy's no joke; I'll have to go all out if I want to beat him!), implying he was holding back for fear of over-using his powers and killing someone, and THEN do the super-fast super-punch, rather than simply using that straight off. And the Cap/Bat fight is on a whole different ballgame. Unless what I've read on that one was untrue, all they did was spar a bit before mutually deciding that Cap would win (even though it'd take them a while) and that they needed to discover what was really happening. So while their fight wasn't an epic smash-fest, it did allow them both to come out of it looking good. Wait: Punisher was in JLA/Avengers?! Well of course Cap would win. Batman didn't have the time to prepare a way of beating him. Batman won their fight in Marvel vs. DC.

Their Marvel vs DC fight (if I remember correctly) was one of the ones whose outcome was based on a vote from the fans; ie, it was mostly popularity contest. So, of course Batman won that; pretty much any character that gets matched with Batman on a popularity contest is going to lose.

Thor and Superman fought in the MArvel Universe. The DC characters, the Flashes, Superman, Wonder Woman etc, are fast because of the Speedforce. There is no Speedforce in the Marvel Universe, so I guess Superman won fair and square. Oh, and Natalie Portman in the Thor movie? Awesome news! She is talented and beautiful. You can rag about her Star Wars performance all you want, it's not easy acting to Gearge Lucas' silly scripts and wooden dialogue.

Superheroes powers shift throughout the decades, depending on the writter's whims. There is no consistancy, other than "Darkseid wins." But Portman is usually a solid actress, she's pretty, even if she's not blazing hot.

Also Natalie is usually pretty wooden since Professional, but still can put on decent performances.

Actually, Batman fought and beat the Hulk. It involved gas and a kick to the gut. Keep in mind this was old hulk, who wasn't as powerful as modern Hulk.
