I hope Depp has a big role. Always have loved the Hatter and seeing more of him would please me greatly.

I loved the Mad Hatter...but he doesn't need a bigger role just because he's being played by a guy who's going to make him all creepy.
Depp being Burton's little creepy puppet sucks.

Is Tim Burton even capable of coming up with his own ideas anymore? Man, what happened to the guy who made Edward Scissorhands and Big Fish?

Never much cared for Corpse Bride, and 9 doesn't look all that interesting to me, but I'll hold off judgment till I see it.
Oh, and I just updated the first post with the HD version that was released yesterday.

He co-wrote and did a lot of the character and set designs for "The Nightmare Before Christmas", so it was partly his project.

And Big Fish is an adaptation. Also, 9 is based off of a short film.

Nothing wrong with a director doing technically non-original work. Stanley Kubrick is on of the most renowned directors of all time and most of his movies (Paths of Glory, 2001, Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, the Shining, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Barry Lyndon, Eyes Wide Shut) were either inspired by or adaptations of published books.

So...I suppose the Mad Hatter is going to have a bigger part in the story because he's played by Johnny Depp? Nevermind the fact that they probably could've gotten an actor better suited for the part, he has to be the Mad Hatter because it's a Tim Burton movie and he wore a hat in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory.
Alice looks a little too old, and the animation looks cool but makes for an awkward mix with the live actors. Gives it a Who Framed Roger Rabbit kind of look, which I'm guessing was not intentional.
This should be a pretty fun movie though, despite these minor flaws.
