VADER FOR GM!

My RAW GM suggestion is already obvious. It's like having 6 GMs at once!
I don't mind the whole 'speedy punt recovery' deal for Flair, as long as it means he's even more insane when he comes back.

Flair as GM? NEW AND EXCITING!
And as a face? Face GM's are the worst, they're so horribly biased against heels it's not even funny. And they don't even have the heel GM's back up excuse (you know, that they're evil asswipes).

This would suck. It would literally put us right back to 2002 - I mean what else can be done? We have seen this story before...why do it again?
What I loved about Regal's run was that it was something different. Hell Regal had even already been a commissioner but they made it different. Flair would just be more of the same.
When Regal was GM it felt like we could he heading towards a new era of some sort. New talent being used. It was awesome. This is nothing different.

I'm not even one of the people that thinks everything has to be 'new' for it to be good. I totally appreciate some of the status quo needing to be showcased.
It's just in this instance, a GM sets the strategic direction for the entire show. If the GM isn't setting the direction, the feuds have to be mega hot to survive on their own without linking into said direction.
Smackdown for a while was the Edge and Vickie show. Matches would be booked and episodes would be formed to give Edge the advantage, so it all linked in. Regal on Raw as the super-heel GM got involved with loads of faces and could have succeeded in getting a lot of them over. It worked. We had Marshall Law which meant there was no GM, and the show had a legitimate feel of 'anything could happen'. And we had Adamle, who was truly impartial and made matches exclusively because they looked like they would be entertaining, and not to benefit one side or the other.
Flair coming back wouldn't just mean Flair was back. It would pretty much mean the direction of the show travels back 7 years as well. That is Flair making matches, shouting 'Woo', heels not liking it, and nothing much overall really happening. The feuds as seperate entities would have to be hot considering there was no overall direction, and condering HHH/Orton is being lined up again, I can't imagine it has much legs.

I'm pleased with it. I was fearing that, with Trips being back, Stephanie would come back with him. I'd rather have Hornswoggle as GM before Stephanie.

There's some irony with the "new and exciting" remark, seeing that Raw has has a heel gm for about 90% of the time since the brand spilt. I'd rather a Jack Tunney-esque figure that you didnt have to see every week. Much fresher than "douchebag GM angle" chapter 216

A Jack Tunney figure would be awesome, because Tunney's rulings affected both faces and heels. Sometimes the heel got the benefit, sometimes the face and Tunney was never apologetic when it went the heel's way either. It was "This is the rule" not "I'm sorry, beloved face, but technically the heel is right even though it is cowardly of him to point this out."
My issue will be if Flair turns into Theodore Long V2.0 and basically builds up pointless obstructions for heels to overcome before they can so much as touch his face buddies.

I love the DiBiase idea someone threw out, but Flair will be a nice change of paste from Vickie.
Hell, ya wanna make things really interesting, turn him Heel.

That's why I wish they'd try a Tunney figure. So, when he shows up, you KNOW its something major. And if they *need* a GM all over the screen every week, at least make him a tweener. Make things more intresting and less rediculous.

This isnt new or exciting so im not thrilled or upset about it. What it does is change the simplest of dynamics and give the faces more of a chance to beat up Legacy.
