When I was watching the Battle Royal, I predicted to myself that it would end with Cena and Triple H and then Triple H would win. I was correct.
I am not bragging.
This is a disappointment. I would have loved to have been wrong.
Why, oh why, is this main event scene so stale and forced? Triple H vs. Orton vs. Cena is so, so old. Every combination of those three will not produce anything new. In fact, the finish from tonight's Battle Royal featured the last two competitors in the Royal Rumble from last year! What the hell? Do something new!!!
It's asinine that Cena, Show, and Trips all lost the title match, and are now suddenly back in for the Battle Royal. Go away, you got your shot at the title itself and lost.
What exactly was the point of taking the title off of Orton for five minutes only to give it back to him?
Why couldn't Show have won the Battle Royal to challenge Orton?
Couldn't The Miz and Cena had a confrontation?
What about Triple H versus William Regal or Kofi or something fresh?
Smackdown >>>>>>>>>>> Raw

WWE just might be the only company in the world that owns almost every piece of archived footage of how other wrestling companies failed, only to then ignorantly time and time again reenact those exact same fails, hoping somehow, this time, it'll be different. Sad that this same company brought the Attitude era to us.

How do you get three last man standing matches out of one feud? HOW?! Sign #1 you've gone on WAY too long. But this is the rubber match, they've both won 1. The WWE needs to break the tie. Big Show should interrupt the match and destroy both guys next week.

This is the feud they've been building to since Tripper first took Randy under his wing back in, like, 2003. They want to make this work, no matter how many times they try and fail with it. Really, when you think of it like that, they're just trying to get a return on their investment by any means possible. Honestly in this situation they should have just cut their loss. lol Damn 2003. Something I have noticed about WWE this last decade is that they have made almost zero progression as far as storylines go. When you have to depend on a storyline from five years ago it is time to get some new writers or get rid of the writers.

The sad thing is the crowd popped big for it in Charlotte, and for Triple H all night long. Nobody ever learns. I know!!! How dare the fans actually enjoy themselves! The nerve of those people!!!! But seriously, I am as sick of Orton/HHH as the next guy and was hoping that someone like Miz, Kofi, MVP, Regal, or anyone else would win the battle royal just to do something new. But, you can NOT be upset with the crowd for enjoying it. Their opinion differs from yours and mine. Big whoop.

The sad thing is the crowd popped big for it in Charlotte, and for Triple H all night long. Nobody ever learns. If the live crowds are eating it up, and if the ratings pop, this feud continue to live on past The Bash. The problem is, the ratings probably will go up next week and the live crowd will probably be very into it, because: a) it's a go-home show before the PPV b) it's the first time Raw has ever gone commercial-free, so the live crowd will have a PPV atmosphere to it. c) it's a Last Man Standing match for the championship Those three variables all make for a boost in the ratings and a hot crowd. The problem is, they'll probably look at those figures and assume that it is solely because of the headlining act (Orton vs. HHH) that the numbers went up. And while we can sit here and say that SmackDown is better because it has a fresher main event scene and is developing young talent, those ratings continue to drop or plateau. Vince isn't joking when he says, "It's all about the money". So if there's big money in next week's Raw, then we'll continue to see Orton and Legacy vs. Triple H as the headline act on Raw for weeks to come.

This decade has been so mediocre that younger fans just accept it.

How do you get three last man standing matches out of one feud? HOW?! Sign #1 you've gone on WAY too long. I agree 100%. And also: the person who pointed out the stupidity of Cena/HHH/Show all being back in the Battle Royal nailed just what I was thinking at the time. Of course, as soon as I saw HHH in that Battle Royal graphic, I knew he was winning it without a shadow of a doubt. I mean after all, he didn't win the title earlier, and there's no way they'd ever have him lose two title shots in one night. But the point remains...those three HAD their shot not an hour ago. They should have been ineligible. Myself, I would have had the final shocker come just as HHH was celebrating...I would have had Trump come back on the Tron and announce the signing of a new major star to the RAW brand...the final entrant into the Battle Royal.....EDGE! Then have Edge dump Hunter from behind and claim that shot at Orton. Seriously...HOW did the "ultimate opportunist" not wiggle his way into a title shot Battle Royal?

They even had that little pop-up graphic that said RAW's ratings were through the roof when he came in. Saying RAW was dull, boring, and mediocre. Jericho could see the future. I would love for there to be a SmackDown vs. RAW storyline here, and have Jericho actually show his debut on the Titantron and say, "See? I told you so, you pathetic parasites! Not even I could save that sinking ship called RAW. But I am the best on SmackDown. Nine time Intercontinental Champion, the bane of Rey Mysterio, and soon to be World Heavyweight Champion once more." God, that would be awesome.

Which is also why, after dispatching Mysterio, he should vacate the IC Title, which should then go to a member of the Hart Dynasty, where they can take it to ECW and feud with Bourne over it, and hey, they could even have a gimmick where they challenge, or "invite" other brand's wrestlers onto ECW to challenge for the belt.
