Here's your chance: Book Christian as champion, you can't go back in history more than 2 weeks. How does he become champ, and keep Batista strong?
Here we go: From tonight, his challenge in the Peep Show. Batista accepts it, obviously not taking Christian as a serious challenger. Not taking him seriously at all.
Batista leaves after accepting the challenge, but Christian stays out and cuts a promo about he has been an intercontinental champion - beating RAW's number one contender, no less - has been tag team champion numerous times, and has NEVER dropped the ball when it was given to him. Tonight is his night to drop the RAW reject and take the belt that belongs rightfully to the peeps.
The match begins, and Batista is cocky and arrogant. Christian is focused, but no less sneaky and still pulls out every dirty trick in the book whenever Batista starts gaining momentum. Throughout the match Batista continually goes for his strongest powermoves - the spinebuster and sit-down powerbomb - but Christian manages to counter them every time with a dirty trick. Spinebuster? Bite to the head. Powerbomb? Eye gouge. Eventually Christian goes for the Unprettier, and hooks Batistas arms and is about to drop for it, but Batista lifts him into the air, onto his shoulders in an Electric Chair Drop position. Christian tries to swing around and go for a hurracanrana, and almost manages it, but Batista holds on and maintains his balance, lifts him up again and delivers the sit-down powerbomb. He gets up and does his flex-yell thing for a second, then walks back to Christian for the pin. Christian kicks out. Batista immediately goes for and hits another sit-down powerbomb, but this time he loses his balance and drops Christian on top of him. Christian immediately goes for the cover but is thrown off. Both men are up and Batista goes for a wicked lariat, but Christian hooks his arm, swings around for the other, and immediately drops him in the Unprettier. Pin, 1, 2, 3.
I don't think this would hurt Batista, since I would have him regain the belt the next week. But before he does he would cut a promo: "I dropped the ball last week. I took him lightly, and it cost me. But you know what, it also opened my eyes: Ever since I came her to Smackdown!, I didn't see anyone that could take my belt from me. I didn't take anyone as seriously as I should, and that's my fault. But you opened my eyes, Christian, and tonight I'm exercising my right to a rematch and I'm bringing the belt back where it belongs."
The match ensues and the tactics employed by Christian are much the same, but Batista this time isn't having any of it. He lets his eyes be gouged, but delivers the spinebusters anyway. He ends up bleeding halfway through the match but doesn't let anger overcome him and make mistakes and in the end delivers his sitdown powerbomb, immediately picks Christian up for a second one, and puts him ina folding pin to ensure victory.
I think this would make both of them look better, and fans wanting their Batista match on Summerslam aren't gypped.
And yeah, I'd make a sucky booker.
