Were the Baldies from the original ECW carrying the gimmick of being Skin Heads.....the reason being they were racist and were against New Jack all the time.

It's hard to be Skin Heads when your group is a mix of ethnicities themselves (including Redd Dogg/Rodney Mack, who is black). It was a bunch of pissed off NY/NJ thugs who happened to be bald. Granted Mack wasn't in ECW when they feuded with New Jack, but still, they weren't racist against New Jack, they were just a street gang who thought they were more hardcore than New Jack, but 9 times out of 10, got destroyed by New Jack.

There was also their match at Anarchy Rulz 2000 against Balls Mahoney and Chilly Willy where DeVito used a staplegun on Balls' eye

I always thought Da Baldies were more of a spin on the Fordham Baldies.

I mean, one of them was PN News, whose gimmick was that he was down with black 'homeboy' culture. If they were skinheads, I don't know why they'd let PN News into their gang (nor why they'd make Spanish Angel their leader).

I'm going to reiterate what everyone else said about how the Baldies can't be racist skinheads if they're multi cultured (especially since their leader was a Puerto Rican named Angel) although a racially diverse white supremacist gang might make for a hell of an angle.
I believe the Fordham Baldies were the inspiration for the stable since I remember Heyman mentioning that Fordham Baldies hung out near the lawfirm where Heyman's dad practiced law.
BTW does it seem like that has to be assumed that every wrestler with a shaved head and denim has to be a racist? Even if a person/fictional character is a skinhead doesn't automatically make them a racist. There are non-racist skinheads out there. It's just the news tends to focus on the racist variety since it makes better copy. And since pro wrestling is basically an industry of stereotypes.........

I've read that the movie "The Wanderers", which featured a gang named the Baldies, inspired the gimmick.

I think it was just a gang of wanna be bad ass bald guys who had a feud with New Jack. I really doubt they were trying to be skinheads since you also had a black guy and a hispanic in the group.

I can only remember them beating up Christian York & Joey Mathews at Guilty As Charged. I remember at Anarchy Rulz 99 there was a big clusterf*** when Chris Chetti got hurt doing a Lionsault during a tag match with Nova against Simon Diamond and Tony Devito so then Doring and Roadkill (and Lita) came out and attacked everybody, Da Baldies and CW Anderson ran out to stop Roadkill from doing a top rope splash on Jazz, Da Baldies started fighting amonst each other, and then New Jack came out and beat everybody but Nova up. I don't know if there was a point other than to see Spanish Angel get hit in the balls with a pool stick and Rod Price get stapled in the head. Come to think of it... most times Da Baldies came out it resulted in New Jack beating them up with weapons.

I can't remember the name, but there was a big skinhead gang in NY making waves at the time that the gimmick was based on.
I thought they were a pretty underrated stable. I loved the match at GAC2000 - awesome moment when the crowd were hot as New Jack went crazy stapling DeVito(having already taken out Grimes with a balcony dive), then suddenly gets knocked out by an Angel shovel-shot out of nowhere and steals a pin, then the place just falls silent as their theme hits, before Styles shouts "they've done it again!".

It's ironic because New Jack's bald too. So, did he refuse membership or something? Suckas got to know.
