David has no idea what he's talking about. He has the balls to criticize Foley as a worker (this coming from a mediocre wrestler who got on television because his name is "Sammartino" and managed to put hot MSG crowds to sleep in the 80s) and blames Foley for kids doing backyard wrestling. Dumbass.

Man... f*** David Sammartino!
The guy couldn't work his way out of a wet paper bag. He had no charisma, and no redeeming qualities other than being Bruno's seed. Mick Foley gave us some great moments, which is way more than can be said for David Ham and Egger.

The ironic thing is that David Sammartino had his best matches with Foley, and those were usually him destroying Dave in the UWF. HA! And he said he never met Foley!!! Where the Hell is his brain??? I guess he was so wacked out on drugs he had no idea he wrestled Foley or that he was even in UWF. |

Drawing power aside, what did he say that was wrong? the fact that he goes on and on about how "he's not a great worker especially compared to Ric Flair" when his biggest fans and even Foley himself say he wasn't a great worker and nowhere near Flair's technical ability. the guy just comes off as an elitist asshole five years from now, ten years from now, twenty years from now how many people are going to remember David Sammartino, and how many are going to remember Mick Foley? |

Drawing power aside, what did he say that was wrong? the fact that he goes on and on about how "he's not a great worker especially compared to Ric Flair" when his biggest fans and even Foley himself say he wasn't a great worker and nowhere near Flair's technical ability. the guy just comes off as an elitist asshole five years from now, ten years from now, twenty years from now how many people are going to remember David Sammartino, and how many are going to remember Mick Foley? But is that wrong to say? It's not like he is saying something that's untrue. Flair is a better worker in the ring and doesn't need to spill his brains on the floor to do it. I don't think anyone is disputing who is the most popular of the two, as I had mentioned earlier, David already said that in that interview he realized he was in over his head, still doesn't mean he can't have an opinion. The thing is, even though Foley did a lot of stunts he had a lot of quality matches without a bunch of gimmicks. And he had great promos and knew how to tell a story and had charisma (something David was allergic to I believe). I just think people who say that Foley was a glorified stuntman are just basically using his Titantron entrance video as cliffnotes for his career. Plus, I don't think Foley can be to blame for the yardtards since the only people who can be blamed for taking part in idiocy are the idiots themselves. That's like blaming UFC for these same people trying MMA in their yards, or street racing because they like NASCAR. Stupid people will always do dangerous things they're not trained to do oout of idiocy/hubris. I loved when David gave the Iron Sheik the microphone. I mean sure he did have a good point (  ) when he said that if you see someone with no gig marks or scars from doing a dangerous stunt it gives the kids the impression that it doesn't hurt or you can't get hurt doing that. But when he said that it might give everyone the impression that wrestling is phony, oh no you wouldn't want that little secret to be let out!
