At what point in MWC's run do you think Jefferson was accepted by the fans as part of the canon of the show? When did he stop being simply the new guy?

I'd say around Season 8 or so, when NO MA'AM was formed.

I always liked him better than Steve, as he was more of a cohort of Al rather than a sometimes antagonist.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

I always liked him better than Steve, as he was more of a cohort of Al rather than a sometimes antagonist. This. And in being Al's best friend, he was also an achili's heel to him

Steve is generally more well-liked than Jefferson? I always got the impression that pop culture deemed it the other way around. Thank goodness MWC fans actually got it right. Episodes with Jefferson are almost unwatchable for me. At that point, it had become fanboy central, and virtually ANYthing could be said and the studio audience would go ballistic.
Jefferson: "I like cookies."
MWC fans: "Ohhhhhh myy gooddddd! He said cookies and cookies can go with milk! Milk comes from breasts, and not only that but the breasts of WOMENZ! That's so cutting edge and perverted! OMG Jefferson, let me give you and the cast a standing ovation! Cookies! Simply brilliant!"
The whole show took a turn down craphole central in later seasons.

The audience during MWC was annoying at times.
Whenever a character enters they scream almost to the Black Canary level

Jefferson had his moments, and really faired better then what could have been hoped, especially considering he was replacing Steve, who had been such a big part of the show, and was on equal footing with Marcy. The trouble with many of the Jefferson episodes, especially later on was that Marcy had no counterweight, which she had with Steve. Jefferson was much more of a sidekick then Steve was. However, with all that being said, it is a credit to McGinnley that he was able to make the character interesting and lovable.

I had no problems with him up until the NO MA'AM stuff.

I loved him since the first time he showed up. I thought he was way more entertaining than Steve.

I like Jefferson allot more than Steve. Steve just seemed like a female Marcy.

Jefferson was WAY funnier than Steve. I loved the running gag of him being not only a con artist but also possibly ex CIA

MWC, the only show Ted didn't kill This was the 1st time I'd ever seen him in a show. When I learned a few years later that the guy has always had this lethal "jump the shark" aura around him, I was amazed that I just happened to be introduced to him on the 1 show that survived it.

Can't you think both are funny? The Steve era and Jefferson era are different but on it's own merits I like both differently.

Steve was good, but I liked Jefferson a lot better. I loved how he made fun of Marcy behind her back.

While I liked both, I thought Jefferson was much more entertaining to watch.
