We've had a "What car do you drive?" amongst other threads, so why not Cellaphones? (TM by Tony Altas)
I just got an LG Rhythm a few months ago and I'm digging it so far. Mine's not pink like in the video below, but black. But this is the best video that shows off the phone.
Pros: MP3 Player expandable up to 16GB with a MicroSD card. Good sound quality, at least on headphones. It's not quite as good on the standard speaker but that's to be expected. Cool touch sensitive face buttons and scroll wheel (though the wheel feels a bit flimsy compared to an iPod). Crisp, clear picture. Good battery life (so far) as I use the MP3 player for at least a few hours daily and charge it approximately twice a week. Oh yeah, it was FREE too (due to a limited-time online only offer from Alltel).
Cons: My biggest con is honestly a nitpick but if you load whole albums onto the phone, it automatically organizes them in alphabetical order instead of sequential order. Mostly, I just set all my songs on Shuffle but if I want to listen to an album like normal, I'm screwed. For a music-centric phone, custom ringtones are impossible unless you use unofficial software to hack into the phone. Since it's a slider phone, the keypad is so small that you'll probably get carpal tunnel trying to text one simple message (luckily I don't text often). You have to tilt the camera to the side to take pictures and, while cool, it is difficult to take self-portraits without hitting any of the face buttons and backing out of the camera. And connecting to a computer via data cable is pretty spotty. At one point, it erased my songs off my memory card and I'm not able to take pictures off my phone and put them on my computer (yet, I haven't tried saving them to my memory card instead of my phone's memory).
Anyway, my Cons are mostly minor. So far, I'm loving the phone. I wanted a new phone and needed an MP3 player so this took out two birds with one stone...for FREE! I'm pretty simplistic so while there's other features, I hardly use them. Honestly, I use the MP3 player more than the phone. Other than still needing to get a case for it (I'm super paranoid about breaking my phone now that I got a nice one), I dig it.
