I started playing Fallout 3.
It is an impressive looking game. But I don't see why you have to shoot a human five times in the head before they die. What do they have metal skulls in the post apocalyptic future?
Anyway I still getting used to it. Ants That Breathe Fire!!! f*** that quest is hard.

I fell out of favor with MGO. Other games are more fun to me.
Almost time to start playing Resistance 2.

I kinda fell out of favor with it two, but the new update(1.2) seems to improve a lot of issues. Spawning is a little more random, in order to stop spawn-campers(that used to be a huge problem, at least in the games I played). Now, the competition is a lot better it seems. I had some really good games today. And I played on one of the newer maps(the winer one), and it was awesome. Base is hella fun on it.
I had a blast, and I'm not even all that good.

I saw tonight at work that used copies of MGS4 dropped to $29.99
I might pick it up soon, barring any necessary expenditures.

Spyke, you need to.
Online was pretty "meh" when the game first game out last spring, but its been improved a lot lately with the updates and expansions. More maps. More gameplay modes. Less cheapness. Its pretty good. I mean, its still behind say Halo or Call of Duty, but then again, MGS4's single player is far ahead of those two games, so it all balances out.

Sorry if you guys get questions like this a lot, but, I need the help of you godless Sony loving heathens.
I already have a 360 which I love, and a Wii which I'd love if it had more good games. I have enough christmas money to get a PS3 I think (What do they even cost these days? Is there a price drop coming?) but I dunno if I should. Really the only reason I want it is Blu-Ray, and eventually MGS4 when I go back and beat 1-3 again. So I need you guys help. If you could take the time to answer the following questions to help make up my mind I'd really appreciate it.
1 - Does the PS3 "upconvert" old DVDs to look better? (I have a 52 inch LCD 1080p for those wondering) 2 - Does upgrading to an HDMI cable really make that lot of a difference? 3 - What exclusives does this system have/will it have in the near future that are not FPS games since I hate those? (I like RPG, action/adventure) 4 - How is online? I know its free but does its functionality compare to live? I still have nightmares of how horrible MGS3 and SD vs RAW 06 were online on PS2. 5 - It isn't noisy when it plays DVDs is it? This is the main reason I want it, my PS2 buzzes like hell when watching newer DVDs, you actually hear it through the TV speakers over the movie! 6 - They aren't backwards compatible anymore, are they? 7 - WTF is Home and what does it do?
Thanks a lot to anyone who takes the time to tackle those.

So I was at my Sisters over the Christmas week, and she has PS3 online so I decided to hook up and play some of the games I own that have online features but I fail to have a PS3 connected to the net for some reason. So I thought I'd talk about my experiences in this thread.
Little Big Planet = This game was made for online, I loved every part of the online mode. The user created levels, the costumes, the other players. It was way more fun that just playing Single Player campaign. A+
Grand Theft Auto 4 = It's ok. It's heck of fun playing with heaps of people. But the majority of the time theres usually just one person playing. And they have level 10. So Free play was ok when you couldkill other players and game modes are ok, depending on how many people are playing and stipulations and such. B-
Team Fortress 2 = Yes, I do own Orange Box on PS3. And I have yet to see the major problems the PS3 version has without online. With online however sometimes servers would crash and games wouldn't load and it was very very annoying. But when the server was ok and there were a few people playing it was fun. Except when engineers keep putting up turrets and so you change to an engineer to make your own turrets, but then you get killed by spies and your turrets suck, so you change to spy, but no matter how many times you try to stealth kill you will always, ALWAYS suck. B-
Smackdown vs Raw 2009 - I played one game, Fatal 4 way. Everything was delayed so you couldn't stop a pinfall in time. Fun though. C-
Home - ......it has potential. E

I've had good times with all three of my online games, though my FIFA 09 games are usually tankings.

Thanks a lot to anyone who takes the time to tackle those. I'll try my best. 1- I'm not sure myself since mine is on a SDTV, but I've heard it can upscale DVDs as well as PS1 games. Don't know how well though. The results may be negligible. 2- It wouldn't hurt. You can get them for like $20, and the picture quality difference is worth it. But that all depends on if you really want the nicest picture quality possible. 3- Uncharted is already out, and in the near future we'll have Uncharted 2 and God of War 3. LittleBigPlanet is pretty amazing. I guess MGS4 doesn't count as a FPS, so there's that too. 4- Matchmaking is a little bit more cumbersome on the PS3 than on Live, but it's not as difficult as some people make it out to be. As long as you have a good stable connection, you should be able to play lag free. I myself am on a wireless connection and I've yet to encounter any lag. 5- I don't usually notice the noise, but your results may vary. 6- Not the newer ones they have out now. For the best b/c system, seek out a 60 GB system either on eBay or GameStop, but you'll more than likely end up paying more for that one than a brand new system. I'd say if you still have your PS2, don't worry about the backwards compatibility. 7- It's basically Second Life without the furries. It's pretty ok so far, but it's still in open beta and they have yet to really put in any kind of full features. I hope this helps a little. I'm sure some others here can elaborate some more.

Thanks a lot to anyone who takes the time to tackle those. 1-You have the option to. Under settings, there are options for both DVD and PS1/2 Upscaling(but w/o BC, the PS1/2 option is probably not there). 2-I've heard the only way to truely enjoy the PS3 in HD is with the HDMI cables, but that might just be fanboyism. 3-METAL GEAR! But seriously, metal gear is honestly enough of a reason to buy this console. Toss in games like the GoW Series, LBP, Uncharted, and another unannounced Rockstar Games title, and you've got some greatness. And also, even though FFXIII is being made for the 360 as well, its only going to be a port, so the PS3 version will be the "real" version. 4-I don't do a ton of online gaming, but its really nice. I mean, yeah, its behind Live in terms of quality, but its also free. The MGS4 online system has given me no tech issues(thats really the only game I play online). 5-I haven't noticed, but I usually crank my stereo speakers pretty loud when watching a movie to get the theatre effect, so I've never noticed. 6-Not the current models. But if you go back and try and find a 60 GB model, or even the 80 GB models that were released this past June(that's what I got), they feature full BC. 7-Like already stated, Home is kinda like Sony's version of SecondLife with better graphics and no sex shops.

I know I was raving about MGO earlier, but I found one major flaw.
OK, so I created a game today, and I titled it "Lvl 5 and Under", and I wanted only level 5 and under in it. So who's the first person to join? A level 13 guy!
This brings up to issues that heavily need addressing. Booting and game creating. As the creator of a game, you should be able to have the right to boot whoever you want, and the ability to set parameters on who plays your game.
Since the level 13 guy and I were the only two in the game, I couldn't boot him, since you have to have a majority. Its lame.
