Not exactly a punishment, but wasn't Hornswaggle initially an attempt to stop Finlay from getting over?

Not necessarly a gimmick.... but wasn't HHH buried for about a year because of the MSG incident?

i myself liked sheltons mama. i like how vince rolls out the stereotypes from time to time and thinks no one will notice. Plus he actually started winning. Oh and Mark Henry.

Owen Hart with the Blue Blazer Punishment for what? For saying no to the storyline where he would have sex with Debra as a way to break up Owen and Jeff's tag team.

Owen Hart with the Blue Blazer Punishment for what? Refusing to do a love triangle storyline with Debra and Jeff Jarrett.

The part where that jobber says F! in that video is hilarious! ;D My brother and I have been laughing at that clip for years, I need to go to his house and watch it with him again, good times laughing at the late Mike Bell.

Mark Henry wasn't being punished; they were trying to embarrass him into quitting as he had a 10 year guaranteed contract and wasn't drawing a dime.

Dusty Rhodes was mega over with the polka dots. I beleive that was punishment but the guy made it work.
Same thing with Page. I have no idea why he was treated so badly in the WWE after taking a pay cut to work there, being friends with a few guys in the locker room (like Undertaker) and then jobbing to Taker's sock puppet faced wife. He could have went over The Undertaker simply by having Taker kick his ass for the majority of a match to job to a Diamond Cutter out of the blue. Taker could win the fued but Page would have been made. Then with the motivational speaker gimmick he managed to get over. He got strong pops when the Titantron would fade into his smiling face,
It still baffles me that WWE missed the boat so bad on the guy.

Perry Saturn is the only guy I know that had to be re-buried because he got his "punishment" gimmick over.

Remember the angle where Austin and Kurt would argue over who got to hug Vince McMahon during the Invasion? That whole thing was a gigantic shot taken at Page.

Im sure a lot of the roster who got over were assisted by the ass they kissed. Again if you (Vince) thought he was such a useless ass kisser to begin with, dont bother to bring him in. The guy was good enough to draw, could have been a major force in the mid card and was a fresh face from WCW who was a main eventer there who actually had some clout. Him being an "ass kisser" doesnt seem like enough of a reason to deem the guy useless.

Reading the 'Death of WCW' book, Page appears to have been good friends with Bischoff, maybe that is the reason for the bizarre burial.

Alot of people consider Page a giant mark for himself, very self-centered, and an oppurtunistic ass kisser. Just read some of Mark Madden's stuff. He refers to his as DDMe.
I never knew Moppy was a punishment for Saturn as I'd never seen that video clip before. That was very unprofessional on his part and the botch wasn't even that bad. A few stiff shots on him...ok. Tossing him on his head intentionally? That's not cool.

I loved Shelton's Mama. Yes, it was ridiculous. But for some reason, I found it to be hilarious.

Shawn Stasiak. Planet Stasiak was the worst of the worst but then he got it over BIG time, only to be released.
