No surprise, theres about 20 showings a day of it in my local cinema whereas I think the next best film has 6 (Inglourius Basterds)
I liked all 3 films so I'll probably see this one.

Or this is a crappy summer for movies and people will find any excuse to escape the heat. I'm inclined to agree with this man. Especially since this and the other 3 FD movies are all pretty much the same movie. Escaping death and pissing him off to no end. Plus ijt's merely just glorified, hollywooded snuff films. The Saw movies, the HOstel movies and the FD movies are the exact same thing. Seeing how bad the human body can be mutilated.

This isn't a shocker, considering how first off, 3D films have a higher admission fee because of the cost of the glasses(at the theatre I work at, we charge $2 for each pair of 3D glasses).
Secondly, some theatres had the non-3D version as well, so they could have twice the amount of screenings, thus further increasing revenue.

IB and D9 will easily outgross both horror films once their runs are all over with. Meanwhile, G.I. Joe (the alleged bomb of the summer) has outgrossed Terminator Salvation.

And TFD at least sounds like more of a fun time than Zombie's Revisionist BS on a classic horror flick.

yeah I don't think anyone is looking at G.I. Joe as a bomb, or atleast this is the first time I've heard about it.

I'd probably see a movie even if it doesn't sound good if it was in 3D just for the experience. That's probably the mentality of a lot of people who saw it.

I might see it, but I would not expect much. 3D popcorn movies usually do pretty well.

Hmm, I'm really surprised that TFD smoked Halloween II. I thought they'd be close, with H2 gettin' the win.

People thought before it was released that it would be the bob of the summer. In terms of actual damage done to the studio, the real bomb is Terminator: Salvation, which caused Halcyon to go bankrupt. G.I. Joe will be fine with merch sales and DVD taken into account. Also, IB cannibalized Halloween's money. If you're gonna make a movie called HALLOWEEN, at least open it IN OCTOBER.

The problem with opening Halloween 2 near Halloween would be the incredible drop-off it would have afterward. If they open it now it can still make money all of September AND October (Halloween season)
