If you look at it, it makes sense. He's a technical specialist, much like Jericho. Right now, he's doing nothing on SD, which has got to be frustrating. He's showing a pronounced aggressive streak in the few times he's been on TV, and this is after coming off of a goofy gimmick that sure didn't get him wins. And he's a former tag-team specialist and tag-team title holder. Hell, he was part of the (self-proclaimed) World's Greatest Tag Team. Hell, Jericho could have been staring in a mirror with him.
I understand why they put the Big Show with him. He's a moving roadblock, and he probably would have crushed Kofi for the IC title, realistically. I just feel with Haas, they had an opportunity to really put the kid back on the map, and it would have made an interesting team, almost reminiscent of when Jericho and Benoit were a team.

Big Show was the best choice.
The man was doing nothing, and had no reason for being on TV because he was attacking people for no reason every week. He'd grown stale and uninteresting.
This gives Big Show something to do, he's a big name, the team is credible and over. They have an awesome mash up theme, and Charlie Haas would have gone over like a lead baloon.

I think the pairing would have been awesome myself, thinking about it. Jericho could have really rehabbed the Haas character and made him relevant. You give them 3-4 weeks together, and I think Charlie is being looked at as legit.
There in lies the problem though. It would have taken a few weeks for people to take to it, and since this was a mystery partner situation on a PPV, they needed the instant gratification moment. Show brought that where Charlie couldn't. Had there been time for patience and building, Haas in a suit would have been beyond perfect.

Nothing personal, Saw, but...
LAWL.
Chris Jericho and Charlie Haas would be about as believable as a tag team as Triple H and Funaki.
Not saying that it isn't "feasible", but ya gotta remember: This is WWE and a tri-branded title. Tri-branded means they're booking it for Raw with the other shows as an after-thought. And a tag team of Chris Jericho and Charlie Haas just wouldn't fly.

I wish. I've always been a huge supporter of Charlie Haas, because I think he's untapped potential. He's a fantastic wrestler, and I think his charisma and mic skills are underrated. Being paired with Jericho could have finally gotten him over. Hopefully something else will down the road.

It's probably my mentality. I actually believe guys who are low on the card can be raised up and made better. WWE obviously doesn't have this mentality. I just think it could work. MGH has the point, tho. They're not one for patience and development anymore.

MGH has the point, tho. They're not one for patience and development anymore. Which is both sad and a bit stupid. The more guys you get over, the more merchandise you'll sell, and with that comes more money. I'm not sure why they don't see good business in trying to elevate the lowercard wrestlers.

Only if he'd been impersonating Jericho while he did it. Then we might have got the Jericho / Jericho team that showed up in the photoshop thread.

While I don't think Haas was a good choice, I actually thought being Jericho's partner could have been a great way to "make a guy".
Jericho could have claimed that the current crop of wrestlers don't have the respect, or skill, necessary to be a champion, so he was going to take a younger guy under his wing and build him into a proper champion; his apprentice of sorts.
You could have had vignettes and segments with Jericho training the kid, teaching the kid the ropes; he could have been the proud teacher molding a young wrestler.
It would have been a great way to build a guy.
I would have personally picked an unknown to fill the role, someone like revamped Curt Hawkins or DJ Gabriel.
That being said, I do think Show was the best choice while not going that route.

I like Stratford's idea. A guy like Ryder could have had some funny promos with Jericho. They could've just made it because Jericho's a jerk, nobody he wanted wanted him. so this was his best option. Shelton may have been interesting as well.
I don't understand...while Shelton and Haas are both doing NOTHING, why not make them a tag-team again. We have FOUR tag teams (FOUR, FOUR, FOUR, FOur). Legacy, cryme, jerishow, harts.

Haas is in the same boat as Burchill
He's just too good at making his opponents look good so that's what he does

Haas is like the "Random" choice in a fighting game, he can be anyone you want him to be! It would've been the perfect choice.

Shelton would've made the ultimate choice, but I gather his slowly-improving mic skills gave the edge to Show in the end.

Plus, it wouldn't make sense from a kayfabe standpoint. Why would Jericho pick a guy who has jobbed mercilessly for about 2 years now?

Looking at their skills, Jericho and Haas would make a great team. But Haas is so below the pecking order, that it wouldn't have made sense. Hell, remember when Lance Cade came out of nowhere one day and helped Jericho? People were just scratching their heads, and things didn't work out a week later even after they explained Cade's motive for helping Jerichol

Why would you replace a main eventer with a tag team wrestler who's been losing week after week?
You replace Edge the biggest heel on Smackdown, with another main event Heel. Since Big Show wasn't doing anything of importance, I'm happy to see Big Show get mic time again and not being squashed by Cena.
Haas would make no sense, and I'm personally hoping for the Haas of hard Knox becomes a real tag team
Though I would have marked for Haas transmogrophying into Jericho and we get Jericho/"Jericho" tag team

I like Haas and everything but as said before, you don't replace Edge witha guy the casual audience doesn't care about. It needed to be another big name, or else it would just be a huge letdown. The point is having a nearly unbeatable tag team, an hell Show and Jericho are even better at that role then Edge and Jericho. Masters would have been a bad idea too, as he's been off of TV long enough for a good chunk of people to forget who he is I'm willing to bet. He didn't exactly get a huge pop on Raw in his return.
