A 5-0 sweep for RHCP rounds out the final match of Round 3. Looking ahead to Round 4, we have some interesting match-ups: - Hip hop favorites vs. Alternative Legends
- Foos vs. Blues
- Brit-Pop vs. Ska/Pop
- Two of the greatest rock bands of the 90s
- The battle of the English rock bands
- The Dr. vs. The Angry Ex-Girlfriend
- The battle of two classic albums
- Black vs. Red
I'll have the first match up at some point this afternoon.

For this round I’m going to post a quote from and link to a review of the album from Rolling Stone or some other reliable source. Match # 1: Nirvana - In Utero“None of this unrepentantly self-obsessed rant & roll would be half as compelling or convincing if Nirvana weren't such master blasters – Novoselic and Grohl deserve a few extra bows here – and Cobain wasn't a songwriter of such ferocious honesty and focused musical smarts. Cobain essentially works according to one playbook, but it's a winner no matter how he runs it.” - DAVID FRICKE, Rolling Stonevs. Ill Communication - Beastie Boys”Ill also conveys the Beasties' more serious side as they pay homage to hip-hop's New York roots. Constantly hyping that "motherf***in' old-school flavor," they drop references like Busy Bee and the Zulu Beat show, romanticizing New York as a mythic rap Mecca. Despite their current status as residents of Los Angeles, MCA states in "The Scoop" that "New York City is the place that I feel at home in," while Adrock claims in "Do It" that he "got the beats in Manhattan/You can hear the texture." - MATT DIEHL –Rolling Stone

Hmm, this would probably change from day to day but I'll go with In Utero

Beastie Boys but this was a tough one for me. I think In Utero is Nirvana's best album. However,I love Ill Communication so I have to vote for it. Either way,I'll be happy though.

4-3 Nirvana. The next vote either wins it or ties it.

Now we have a tie. No pressure, but if this is still tied at 3:39 am, then I get to break the tie.
