I'm so confused. Why would a kids' show parody something that is totally NOT a kids' show!?!?

I now want to know what episode it is... I'm a big Arthur fan but I can't remember what the circumstances for it were. And yes, as a kid I did know they were parodying South Park. Though the show is just as enjoyable, if not more so in some degrees, when you're older.

It's one of those things where the parents are watching with the kids and all you can say is ''what the hell?''

They was a contest on an Arthur like show in Arthur to think up a plot for that show hence all the parodies

If I may...
The episode was an anthology of the kids' stories that they wrote for a contest (which none of them ended up winning).
Buster wrote the South Park parody. Muffy wrote the Beavis & Butthead parody. Brain wrote the Dexter's Lab parody (of course). Arthur wrote the Dr. Katz parody. Francine and Binky wrote basically a wrestling fan fic, with Arthur defeating Hulk Hogan (yeah, brother) by stomping his foot menacingly. Hulk proceeds to run away, screaming like a girl.
T'was a good episode.

Ahh, now I remember this episode. This wasn't the only time they parodied Beavis & Butthead either. In an episode when Buster does gross things to win the approval of some bullies (basically the Tommy Dreamer gimmick), there's a part where they're in an arcade and one of the games the bulies are playing is called Peabrain & Nutthead, with accompanying caricatures.

Damn, that's awesome.
I usually turn to Arthur when my little cousins come over.

I'm a little surprised that you can see Arthur mouth the f-word when he falls on his rear and says "What the ____".

South Park will respond, and there will be blood.

South Park will respond, and there will be blood. They'd be 11 years too late

T'was a good episode. Wow, Hulk sold that move but good! Can't wait to hear his shoot on Arthur. Nevertheless, in all seriousness, a great show.

Great episode with a lot of funny self references. The shows changed a lot now since it's aiming more for younger viewers as with all PBS kids programing.

When I saw them all clustered around each other with the Episode Name ''The Contest'' I thought for a minute they were spoofing Seinfeld
